1Dodge Ram Truck Super Bowl Ad Empty Dodge Ram Truck Super Bowl Ad 2/6/2018, 10:46 pm

I haven't seen a TV ad this tacky in years. I almost thought some figure was going to pop up during the middle of the ad talking about how tacky it was, something like in a Monty Python skit. If you didn't see it, here it is:

I don't know or care who approved it, Ram should have known better than to air it. It wasn't just offensive to MLK's memory but to people who serve others everywhere. Comparing their service to a pick-up truck to sell a truck is outrageous.

Strange super bowl party. The tv cable went out in the third quarter. We listened to the super bowl on a 1950 era radio. Did not see this commercial, but I agree it was a bit confusing, but I get the part of community people serving their community and doing their duty with helping with their dodge truck and tying that in to MLK word's.

I saw it and totally agree. Tacky is a very good word for that one.

Terrific response.  Don't know how you come up with these things, Tel.  Have to presume we can trust that was truly MLK speaking.  Sure sounded like him.

I hope this can make things a little more clear for you Linda. Smile

Thanks, Tel.  I wondered about the family and was disappointed (to say the least) that a family spokesperson thought the ad was within the spirit of MLK's message. Obviously they hadn't heard (or didn't care to remember) the recording you provided.  And even more obviously, I hate to say, it was likely all about what they were paid by the RAM people.   $$$

Pretty disgusting, and I salute the professor emeritus in your second video for unequivocally saying so.
