Could it be a Dodger/Yankee match up? The first since 1981.

The main thing I miss in baseball are the Billy Martin/Tom Lasorda melt downs. I was true blue back in the day but never missed a Yankee game with Billy managing.

The Yanks hold an 8 to 3 advantage over the Dodgers in the Fall Classic. The Yanks won the first 5 meetings starting in 1941. A classic match up if it happens.

My oldest granddaughter is in third grade.  When I was in third grade the White Sox were playing the Dodgers.  I was in heaven.  Our teachers let us listen to the games on the radio at the end of the school day.  It was a wonderful time, and my granddaughter is a loyal sox fan, but it has been since 2005 since they won the world series, but I would like to see a Yankee/Dodger world series would bring back huge memories of becoming a baseball fan.  I think Houston has the best team in baseball, but the best do not always win.

Interesting how they compared Sonny Grays performance yesterday to the famous Bill Bevens loss to the Dodgers in the 1947 series. The Yankees under Casey Stengel were denied the AL pennant twice, in 1954 by the Indians and 1959 by the White Sox. Both teams were managed by Al Lopez.

A Yankees/Dodgers series could create plenty of excitement in this house, since my spouse favors the Dodgers, and I the Yanks. Would prefer we both be cheering the same team as usual, but this'd be fun, too, I s'pose.

I am hoping Curtis Granderson wakes up from his slump. He played with my sil and it is painful to see the drought he has experienced. It would be great if he lit up the world series against his old team the Yankees. Great kid who had great teacher parents. Class is taught by great parents.

I was sorry to see him involved with the foul tip controversy last night, but I guess he tipped it but the replay clearly showed space between the ball and bat.

The Cubs will need to make NL history if they return to the Series this year, sweep the Dodgers 4 straight games. Everything is gravy for the baby bombers in this their rebuilding year. They have two games to become the first Yankee wild card team to win the AL pennant.

No way he tipped it. I hoped the Cubs would have done better... but they were definetly outplayed.

Still hoping for a Dodger/Yankee series. Dodger Blue is still there for me. Will be OOT with the girls this weekend so I will miss the games.

I was sorry to see verlander leave Detroit... but glad he went to my Astros. He's a great big game pitcher.

I have watched him twice when he was with Detroit. He was amazing. He owned the White Sox. There is talk to use him tonight if they get pressed.....the guy is one of the best in the game right now.

He's not as good as he was... but I've rarely seen as good a big game or big moment pitcher.

It's been a pleasure to watch his career.

The problem is that I've been an Astros fan my whole life... and I can't allow myself to contemplate winning tonight. We've been right here before... and never made it to the ws. Same w my old oilers.

Never been excited by anything Astros since the exhibition game in 1965 when Mickey Mantle hit the first home run under the dome. BTW at least the Oilers won the first couple of AFL championships.

The White Sox kicking Houston's asz in the 2005 World Series is one of those top ten moments in my life as I used to skip school and watch the sox games growing up. About five of us still go to openers when I was feeling better. I will never forget the horror of one loud mouth in our group in High School who just destroyed Yaz in the spring of 1970 when he was on the downward portion of his career after winning the triple crown only a few years earlier. The mean things he was yelling had our group so upset we simply got up and left to sit somewhere else. Yaz kept looking back and then at the end of the inning would sit with about four players in the dugout pointing out at the asz who was yelling. Babe Ruth in old Comiskey would go across the street and get a hot dog, and we knew that our loud mouthed buddy was heading for a confrontation if he did not stfu......he was brutal. No athlete deserves to be abused by fans. Loud mouth was not invited again, but he was a big hockey player who was always looking to get into a fight, but disrespecting a HOF player because he is getting older......no class. I took the kids and the wife to the last game in Comiskey Park and it was the coolest baseball game I every went to as the Chicago Police mounted units lined the walls and nobody left the park for at least an hour......cheering and celebrating the history in one of the most beautiful parks in America.....it is now a parking lot......the new park has all the comforts of modern parks....no I beams restricting views.....no horrible bathrooms.......no history.

The original team name until they moved under the dome. I guess I'll root for the Dodgers but not too excited this year.

The last time Houston won a championship, not counting that sport with the big bouncing ball and the tall guys wearing short shorts. Basketball
