Steve Bannon has called the Comey firing "The biggest mistake in modern political history" in an article in the Washington Post.

Former White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon believes the firing of FBI director James B. Comey by President Trump was the biggest mistake “maybe in modern political history.”

Bannon made the statement during an online segment of his interview with “60 Minutes” broadcast Sunday. The statement was extraordinary considering all the political mistakes made in “modern history,” including but not limited to the Watergate cover-up by President Richard M. Nixon and the related Saturday Night Massacre, the Iran-Contra affair during the administration of President Ronald Reagan and President Bill Clinton’s dalliance with Monica Lewinsky, just for starters.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that if James Comey had not been fired,” Bannon told interviewer Charlie Rose, “we would not have a special counsel.”

The biggest mistake in modern political history was electing mentally-ill, completely-unfit moron Donald Trump president, and letting him put a white supremacist like Steve Bannon in a leadership position.

But, yeah, the Comey firing wasn't the smartest thing they could have done. But then, they haven't done any smart things yet. This administration doesn't do "smart." They stay away from "smart" like it scares 'em.

If you and your low-end-of-the-intelligence-bell-curve ilk were really worried about "corruption" then that's the last fucking guy you'd have allowed through your primary process. Donald Trump has been mobbed up for years. Whatever Hillary ever did, Trump makes her look like a nun. And you had plenty of chances to pick someone less corrupt and more capable of governing than Trump -- Kascich, Rubio, Jeb, Romney, etc., pretty much everybody in your field was morally and intellectually superior to that clown. But, nope, your silly, unserious, bigoted-ass voters crawled over a dozen competent candidates to vote for the guy who made 'em laugh on the tee-vee box and who made them feel okay about hating Muslims and Mexicans. Hell, the evangelicals flat threw away everything they (claimed they) believed in to vote for a pussy-grabber.

And as far as Hillary being mentally ill, that's a joke. She may be a lot of things, but she's unflappable. She stood up to more ridiculous grilling and maintained her clam through it all. She had more credentials than just about anyone who's ever run. I know ya hate her because you've been trained to -- you guys are super-trainable, like little dancing spaniels, you conform and swallow down any propaganda fed to you and then you do what you're fucking told... which is reason #3489 that I'd never be a Republican again. It's just a theocratic party at this point, operating on the same batch of fact-denying bullshit that it learns in church. him. We can go shallow just to point out her actions as the worst SOS points to her shortcomings for any other elected spot. The sad thing is that we weren't able to expose comrade sanders and his free stuff charade in the general election. Please do run him out there for your side in 2020 though. That guarantees four more years for Trump.
