SNL Returns This Week

With a new episode.

I get to watch the Bulls on National TV and then later SNL.....cannot get much better for a Saturday night.....that would be a joke at one point in my life, but now I am happy as a pig in chit to sit in my lazy boy and crash on a Saturday night.

But can you stay awake the whole time? That's my own problem in my old age and, though I exercise, I'm not doing physical labor as you are.

Some folks who didn't see Spencer's film from a few years ago, The Help, may not understand that the pie she handed Jeff Sessions was full of crap, just like the fake #45 White House is full of crap.

I think Lorne Michaels needs to show a simple equation to the writers.

Saturday Night Live has been having an amazing season in terms of both ratings and reception. People are loving it. Back in February, it was reported that NBC was looking to spin off its “Weekend Update” segment into a weekly primetime show. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that’s exactly what’s going to happen, starting in August.

Starting on Thursday August 10th at 9:00pm, Michael Che and Colin Jost will host four primetime episodes of “Weekend Update.” NBC’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt told THR, “SNL is having its best season in a quarter of a century — how many shows can say that?! — so we didn’t want them to take the summer off.”

'SNL' to go live coast-to-coast with hosts Melissa McCarthy, Jimmy Fallon

Melissa McCarthy's "Spicy" will go live nationwide.
Beginning next month, "Saturday Night Live" will broadcast live across the country for the first time in the show's 42-year history, NBC announced on Thursday.

The first nationally live "SNL" is scheduled for April 15, hosted by alum Jimmy Fallon.
"SNL" will continue its coast-to-coast live shows through May 20.
Melissa McCarthy, who has stood out this season for her portrayal of press secretary Sean Spicer, will host on May 13. Actors Chris Pine and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson are also scheduled to host in the final month of the season.

"SNL" is typically live in the Eastern and Central time zones but delayed in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.
The satire show has seen a bump in the ratings since President Trump took office.
NBC's "SNL" schedule move follows network patterns for sporting events and award shows, which also broadcast live throughout the country.

"'SNL,' enjoying its most popular season in two decades," Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC entertainment said in a statement. A nationally live "SNL" will ensure that "everyone is in on the joke at the same time," Greenblatt said.
The news comes a few days after NBC announced that it would air "Weekend Update" primetime specials this summer.
