Best movie I've seen in the last year or so

I hate horror movies and the last war movie I saw, "Full Metal Jacket" gave me nightmares again for a week.

I'll have to check it out. It must just be me getting old but I have not seen a great movie in years.

Not to say I have not seen good movies of late but ones that will become classics have become scarce. What is the last movie you consider to be a classic contender? Shawshank?

Good choice. The Departed comes to mind.

Bob knew his movies. Looks like Hell Or High Water and Arrival are good bets for Oscar nominations.

Bob's pick has 4 nominations. His 2 other previews also did well. The real biggie this year is La La Land with a record tying 14 nominations.

If you have not seen Hell Or High water let me ruin it for you with the best seen from the movie.

Great clip. I always wondered what happened to the waitress in 5 Easy Pieces.

It was a great movie but it reminded me a lot of No Country For Old Men. La La Land is winning almost all the awards this year. Expect that one to win Best Movie and director. Best actor seems to be Casey Affleck vs. Denzel Washington.

Hidden Figures was a fantastic movie. Recommend.
