The three leads should all get the Oscar for best actor.
The writing is as good as it gets.
The Texas locations and cinematography are superb.
The tomatometer gives it 98 out of 100 with 141 reviews.
If you want a really good movie experience this is it.

Best movie I've seen in the last year or so Hellorhighwater

I'll have to check on that one.

I recommend St. Vincent with Bill Murray. Not your typical Bill Murray movie but he's in top form.

Thanks guys I'll have to check these out. Haven't seen anything I'd consider Oscar bait yet just some good summer action movies. The titles I notice they bring up for Oscars are Loving, about an interracial marriage and Birth Of A Nation about a slave revolt. The Jungle Book remake gets mentioned too. Sounds like a dull Oscar year to me so far. Still don't know how Spotlight topped The Revenant last year. This years lifetime award winner was just announced, Jackie Chan. I like his movies but.

The Jungle Book remake gets mentioned too.

Best movie I have seen this year.

This year's crop of summer movies like usual was nothing more than comic book pablum,  endless sequels and remakes of tired old space operas, and endless animated flicks for the kiddies.
But of course that's to be expected because summer movies are made to appeal to teenagers and and children.

Now the teenagers & kiddies are back in school and Hell or High Water is the first of the post-summer releases.

Here's two more upcoming flicks...

It will probably end up like Mad Max last year. Lots of nominations and awards for tech but not much in the major categories.

That's one of the things I liked about Hell or High Water. It's all acting, writiing, and story.
Especially the writing. The dialogue doesn't get any better than this one.

I thought Black Mass would do well last year but it received 0 awards/nominations.

This one is getting some Oscar buzz. Looks a little like the box office flop B.F.G. but with a very human story at it's core.

There's a new Tim "Weirdo" Burton flick due out. Looks pretty weirdo.

Love Eva Green.

That even makes a feller with scissors for hands seem normal.

At least Scissorhands had Vincent Price and Kathy Baker in it but Big Eyes is pretty normal and based on a true story. My two favorite Burton's are Ed Wood and Sweeney Todd. They are not even next to normal.

Ed Wood was the well told story of one of my idols.

But for me,  Wood is 2nd banana to Coleman Francis.  Wood got all the attention,  but Francis should have.
Tor Johnson was a secondary player in Plan 9,  but Francis had the foresight to make him the star in Yucca Flats.  I rest my case.  And so should you being a fellow rastlin fan.

Not a fan of that one Bob but just the idea of Johnson as a Russian scientist always cracks me up. The plot is a little like the Hulk comic that came out a year later. I like the Bob Hope movie Lemon Drop Kid with Tor and William Frawley dressed up as Santa.

That's perfectly okay, Telstar. You have to have a little armpit inside you to appreciate a movie like Yucca Flats.

Oh I have a lot of armpit but this one just doesn't grab me. I really think it needed the Ed Wood touch. Dante is wrong about it being TJ.s last movie. He did a bit in the Monkees Movie. Head. I can just imagine TJ, Timothy Carey, Jack Nicholson, Dennis Hopper, Annette Funicello, Frank Zappa, Ray Nitschke, Sonny Liston and Victor Mature trading stories between takes.

Might be funny SNL movie. Love Kate McKinnon. She makes Hillary look funnier than Darrell Hammond's Trump, and that's not easy.

Ever see this one. No dialog so it has that in common with Yucca Flats. No Tor but a pretty famous creep monster.
