The above article explains how it's nearly impossible to be a racist without being a fundamentalist Christian.

A divisive opinion piece from a leftist propaganda site... I'm sure it scratches an important itch for you.

God never meant to have one race. It was not
His purpose at all. God has a purpose for each race.
—BOB JONES SR.

I heard this in North Birmingham at my grandparent's baptist church and I also heard that it was outside agitators which killed those four little girls.  The SEC, fundamentalism, and resentment still toward the Union surviving and folks being treated equally is the problem.......when it can be overcome, America will heal and have God's full blessings......in the meantime hate and prejudice drive politics and America falls short of its potential.

I know plenty of Christians who aren't racist. It's the fake Christians that we have to worry about, and a distinction should be drawn every time the word Christian comes up, because there are good people out there who shouldn't be maligned by the actions of the Falwells, the Robertsons, or the Westboro Baptist Church...among far too many others.

Thank you, FT.

But, unfortunately, here's the deal that people do see.  Franklin Graham calling for the boycott of Wells Fargo Bank because they are running a commercial with two lesbian women who are learning sign language so they can communicate with their adopted daughter.

And I thought Franklin was different.   Rolling Eyes   He's moving his ministry's money to another bank.

I don't think Jesus' ministry had money.  Whoop, there it is Franklin...

Jesus' ministry required money. How do you think the apostles got fed and clothed? The places they stayed the night? It took money... Someone's money be it given to them directly or used to provide for their means. If you think Franklin Graham is different than his dad, you are wrong.

This time you are absolutely right War Hero, Franklin Graham is just like his dad -- a vindictive, prejudiced oligarch ready in a moment to punish anyone who thinks differently than their version of overt, fundamentalist dogma. Graham is every bit as unprincipled, dogmatic and hateful as his dad. We agree on something at last!

In the late 1950s my aunt and uncle took me to a week revival which Billy Graham was speaking.  I was very young, but I remember the football stadium seats all being full and going back each night to listen to him speak.  My aunt and uncle were not crazies, nor was Billy Graham.  He insisted on integration at these rallies and this was not a popular thing in the 1950s......"we have been proud and thought we were better than any other race, any other people. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to stumble into hell because of our pride"  He  was a good man and had an influence on my life.  He was not perfect......as a christian his words at a very early age had an impact on my life.....in a world where there were four public bathrooms his words were bold.  Some say I am focused on racial issues, but I do not want to stumble into Hell, and he is right.....when we think we are better than other religions, races, and ethnicity....we are laying the path to hell.

Seaoat: I respect you and your religious preferences, but this thread is about Franklin Graham taking direct action to punish two Lesbians who have adopted a deaf child and are trying to learn sign language.

If you care to defend Graham, be my guest but I wouldn't piss on him if he caught fire.
