A fifty percent top rate would not end the world. A 28% capital gains tax would not end the world. A return to a million dollar exemption under the gift estate tax would not end the world. We need to return to the tax rates before trickle down.

There was a time before trickle down (when is the trickling supposed to begin?) when the economy was in pretty good shape. We had tax rates that didn't kill anyone and produced a healthier economy.

I guess it is hard to argue against success. The opponents of this sensible idea have to argue against something no one is advocating by posting articles about France, their problems and their tax rates.

Pacedog's view is that the rich shouldn't be taxed at all, and the poor should work for nothing.

No, but when France went 75% on the rich it failed. Why try the same and fail as well?

Poor ol' lonesome 2seaoat has advocated for 90+% taxes in the past. He advocated for a return to the Eisenhower rate of taxation.

Proving, again, his lack of economic savvy.

These are just the first two that came to mind, though I suspect I could post these all day and night, Forrest.
