We have enjoyed one of the most prosperous economies the world has ever seen for some time now.  We consume more than anyone else on the planet.  Meanwhile, 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 per day.

Imagine if you were homeless and you saw a limo drive by, and the pampered person in the back was complaining that Zeus is punishing them because they're not doing enough to oppress women, gays, and anyone else who doesn't worship Zeus every day.  Imagine them saying something to the effect of, "Oh!  Oh the humanity!!  Why must I live in this squaller!??!  Why are you punishing me Zeus!?!?" (takes bite of caviar) "What have I done to deserve such brutal punishment!?!?  Why?!?!?!?! Why!?!?!?!?!"

You would probably think that that guy is an abject moron with absolutely no grasp on reality, wouldn't you?
