During WWII the German army had Christian chaplains. Hitler in speeches often referred to God.

But you haven't even considered the Crusades, the Catholic vs. Protestant conflicts in Ireland, and the Roman army vs. anyone who wasn't roman.

Despite the slaughter you refer to as being directed by athiests, religion at this day and age is the primary cause of human conflict!

Any war for both sides,... unless we're talking a Muslim nation, killed people in the name of the country not religion for the last couple of hundred years.

Therefore casualties incurred by both sides were an atheist driven agenda that had people from all religious sects fighting for their nation.

I think that raises the count of atheist driven murders due to war well past a few hundred million in the last couple hundred years.
