The important point which is missed by folks who can count their IQ on their toes and hands is that the folks are getting CAUGHT. The crisis is the success of our border policies and the additional boots on the ground. The racist cry out that the success is a failure and the Orwellian concept of doublethink is alive and well. I have no qualms calling a great many people dumb, but when a business is booming and a new safe is required to hold all the cash.....some folks around here would yell and scream about the failure of having too small of a safe.....again, you cannot handicap stupidity, and racism for the most part is simply ignorance and fear. 1) Draw the border back 1/4 mile from its current location.
2) Mine everything between old border and new border.
3) Use military to deploy to border and put guard posts up every 1/2 mile.
4) Drones can cover the airspace 24/7/365. What the guards cannot see, the drones will.
5) Locked down. Enuf said.

Oh yeah, we are capturing more than we can handle...that's why the government is sending them to the winds away from the border.

Certainly it can be documented that folks are not reporting back and in fact many are getting through the southern border, but those represent a fraction of the 170 K who overstay visas, or the nice little congressional exceptions which allow Indians and Chinese to work on visas not intended as work visas as american jobs are being taken, and the price of labor is forcing downward with the oligarchy shipping more peons to deflate the labor rate. The chamber of commerce fought for fifty years tough borders, and now they work with impunity to open the back door of visas which never make the news because the propaganda machine needs to fire up the racist base to keep the illusion alive.......again....you cannot handicap stupidity.

This administration isn't trying to "catch" them, they are providing buses at the border and then flying and bussing the children to other cities around the country. The Feds aren't even notifying the cities ahead of time, just taking them there and dropping them off. They give them a citation with an order to show up for court proceedings. Yeah, right.
