One step forward and then three steps backwards. Instead of fixing the economy this goofball decided to toss in social reforms and hopey changey

Definitely not a good report.  Then again, we have had steady expansion since Q1 2011 and also had an actual winter.  The economy can't expand forever.

Two thirds of the downward revision is directly due to reduced healthcare spending, so it's not really the catastrophe you were hoping for.

What fail? One quarter of contraction after several years of expansion?

This is a catastrophe. Each revision, as more numbers became available, has gone from bad to worse.

The stock market goes up because they know that the Federal Reserve will continue printing money which, through a circuitous route, ends up in the stock market making the rich richer.

Meanwhile, due to increased taxes, drastically increased regulations and punishing legislation, the average workers income has plunged. Thank you president Barack Hussein Obama.

Economy in freefall? 1Q revision shows shrinkage of 2.9%

Published June 25, 2014
·FoxNews.com

America's economy shrank at a drastic 2.9 percent annual rate in the first quarter, a far more alarming picture than ones painted in two previous government estimates -- including one that actually claimed modest growth.

The new figure released Wednesday by the Commerce Department is nearly three times lower than last month's preliminary estimate of 1 percent shrinkage -- at the time the worst three-month performance since 2009 -- and far greater than the 0.1 percent growth estimate in April. The sluggish economy's woes have been widely attributed to an unusually cold winter, but the latest figure -- the biggest difference between second and third estimates since 1976 -- could indicate far greater problems.

While economists attributed those bad numbers to weather and other factors, the jarring number, dubbed "an absolute disaster" by Wall Street blog ZeroHedge.com - is more difficult to dismiss.

Not only that, how in the hell can these people not see how they are pumping money into the rich on wallstreet, while sucking the living daylights out of the middle class?

What the hell is wrong with these people?

The gov has a ONE WAY money laundering cycle going on with the rich. Let me explain.

Money pumped to rich via QE wallstreet which causes their investment portfolios to expand, then they have to turn around and give most(not all) of that back to the GOv. And the gov gives it to the poor keeping us still in debt even though gov is collecting record amounts of tax. Whos in the middle? The middle class getting F'D

Now anyone who thinks this is a good economy is either the rich, the gov, welfare recipient, retired wealthy or trust fund baby.. oh wait, just let me say anyone who isn't the working middle class probably thinks this is a good economy.... baaaa

Down is up... we now owe the federal reserve nearly 4 TRILLION dollars... with interest.

I know I would appreciate boards or seagoat explaining to us where the fed got that money from to loan us.

We now owe more debt than our entire annual GDP.

Yea team... bad is good.

It appears that PaceDog, Markle, and Chrissy want the U.S economy to fail badly--and Americans to suffer horribly--just so they can blame the President for it all. Be sure and vote more Republicans into office this coming November!!!!!!

If the economy has been broadly expanding since the end of March, then the 2nd quarter should us a "broadly expanding" increase in the GDP.
I'll be interested to see what that figure is three months from now.

Correct. It should, and I suspect it will.

YOU are the one who wants the economy to fail and it is failing miserably. YOU support President Barack Hussein Obama and his failed policies. Not us.

The rich are getting richer at a faster pace, median income is dropping and our debt is going through the roof. The rest of the world has lost their trust in us except for our enemies who are celebrating and taking over entire countries.

You must be so proud.
