Imagine.... How would Iran-Contra have gone down in today's political climate with Obama in the Whitehouse? I think wingnuts hate Iran now more than they did in 1987, and it would not go over well for Mr. Reagan (or Oliver North) today.

Bergdahl wasn't a hostage....he was a traitor who deserted and was swapped for FIVE Taliban generals. If Obama was playing chess, and Seaoat says he often is, Obama just lost two rooks, two bishops and a queen in return for a PAWN (Bergdahl).

Civilian hostages in an embassy are not equivalent to that of a combatant participating in a war. Apples and oranges, but should it not have been Jimmy Carter's job to get those folks released? Yep, but like this COWH, he was weak and ineffective as well.

is this the iran contra thing?

if so, were we at war with iran then? NO

Did he bypass congress?

did he even know about it? maybe he didn't hear about it on tv yet?

who had those hostages? Lebanon

and peoples heads rolled. many people were indicted and at least one arrest

so bring on the indictments and arrest. cant wait.
