Can you factor Reagan's sainthood into the numbers? Will that make them look better?
Remember perception is everything and the Karl Rove's of the world have done a bang up job or rewriting history.
I think this should be posted on the front page of the PNJ! It would cause heart attacks amongst the GOP faithful!!!!

It's all about their wives.

Nancy reagan said "just say no" to drugs. A very powerful message.

sasquach michell obama said "take the fries and toys out of happy meals".

I'll never forgive her for that as long as I live(probably longer now that happy meals have less fries and more apple slices) but I still hate her.

Those were powerful words. They convinced folk to stop using drugs. Without those words we mighta had to do a "war on drugs". Thank god that never happened.

Taxes are down and profits are up. Job creation up and even the unemployment rate is lower.

But what are the numbers for income of the middle class, homelessness, bankruptcy, etc.? The huge income gap and continued concentration of wealth for the 1% may be just "interesting" but it is undermining our democracy with the potential of turning America into just another banana republic.

Is that what we now hold dear as "the American Dream"? I sure hope not. Here's a piece based on real statistics that show what's happening with income and profit. If you go to the article there is a chart illustrating this income distribution.

NEW statistics show an ever-more-startling divergence between the fortunes of the wealthy and everybody else — and the desperate need to address this wrenching problem. Even in a country that sometimes seems inured to income inequality, these takeaways are truly stunning.
In 2010, as the nation continued to recover from the recession, a dizzying 93 percent of the additional income created in the country that year, compared to 2009 — $288 billion — went to the top 1 percent of taxpayers, those with at least $352,000 in income. That delivered an average single-year pay increase of 11.6 percent to each of these households.

Still more astonishing was the extent to which the super rich got rich faster than the merely rich. In 2010, 37 percent of these additional earnings went to just the top 0.01 percent, a teaspoon-size collection of about 15,000 households with average incomes of $23.8 million. These fortunate few saw their incomes rise by 21.5 percent.

So typical of you, ghandi, hate is the key word for you.
I think I can speak for most people here when I say give us something constructive from the Republican party, something other than Obama this and Obama that. Can you do it?

It does explain a LOT about your problem.

Please run those numbers with THREE AND A HALF years into the Reagan Presidency as we are with the failed administration of President Barack Hussein Obama.

Buttman never tucks tail and runs. Buttman just hasn't revisited this thread till now.

Buttman has only one response. Buttman neither knows nor cares if Obama and Reagan are alike or different. Buttman just started this thread because it was something to talk about. Buttman is of the opinion that both Obama and Reagan can jump up his butt because they're both just a couple of blood sucking parasite celebrities riding on the backs of people like you and me.
