By the way,  yella,  I found my digital camera and that's why I want to go to the seagull place.  I want to get video of the seagulls in flight grabbing the food out of yours and my hands.

The underlying thought behind the mention of the "general welfare" in the Constitution does not imply giveaways...it's to ensure that the majority of citizens are helped, not harmed, by the actions of the government...fed, state or local. That, needless to say, hasn't been the trend in the US for many years. That trend needs to be reversed. Oh, and for the idiot, I don't care about your "needs".

You're free to live on the street and starve if that's how you want to live. Don't make your problems into mine.

You missed Section 8 housing which, in some cases, actually pays more than the market rate.  Then they have reduced cable so they have high speed internet, what house doesn't get that?  Then there's a free cellphone.  Help with utilities...why work?

But!... But!... I'm kinda likin' the idea of the government having brothels and demanding some workin' gals and guys to... administer to the mental and social health of poor males and females in need of some lovin'.

Perhaps the government can do like Muslim' countries do and have those gals and guys in prison work their crimes off... Say one day off their sentence for every ten guys or gals they service.

The IRS took over a legal brothel for unpaid taxes.  The government tried to run it and went broke.  In New York, the government ran the Off Track Betting locations in the city.  They lost money.

If the government can't make a profit with a whore house and gambling parlors, doesn't that pretty much say it all with regard to their competence?

You missed a critical word.  Not surprising.

Of course! You expected something more from our government?... Like honesty and transparency in what they do?

I'm just in this for my general welfare because I don't want to get blue balls...

Yes it absolutely does. And this time no sarcasm because your observation is spot on.

Here are 10 examples of "welfare":

...the corporate kind. These things really don't help people in "general"...they disproportionately help those who don't need help.

I always wondered what a George soros schill looked like, now I know. you are aware he made his fortune by hedge funds?

im gonna toss this one just just because....

George Soros, who made his fortune in the hedge fund industry; Herb and Marion Sandler, the California couple who own a multi-billion-dollar savings and loan business; and Peter Lewis, the chairman of an Ohio insurance company, donated more than $63m (34m) in the 2004 election cycle to organizations seeking to defeat George W. Bush.

This is a joke from one of the most Progressive web sites in the country right?

Tell us, how cancelling the deduction on mortgages is a "gift" to corporations.
