What kind of job do you get with a degree like that?

I'm just curious.

Are you going to be a wallstreet guru?

Economics, silly, economics.

I took Consumer Economics in high school. Does that count for anything?
The "teacher" was a coach and he didn't do anything in the class but sit at his desk. We used to just gab with him. And some gay guy used to give me foot rubs. Great class. I got an A in it.

Wall street would be great, though I have a feeling that most of the good jobs there are reserved for the ivy league. Ideally, I would like to do some sort of market research or data analysis for either a federal reserve bank, or be an in-house economist for a larger company - also doing market research or data analysis. I originally planned on doing this when I graduated with my bachelors degree back in the fall of '98, though that is when DOW lost over half it's value in a month, so I decided to work for a few years and then get a masters degree - hoping that the economy would turn around by the time I graduate. If it doesn't, the plan is to continue on for the PhD and - again - hope that everything turns around by that time.

Worst case scenario - I end up with a PhD in economics and become a professor, which isn't an entirely unpleasant prospect. I will simply have to figure out a way to fend off all of the female advances from college undergrads. Wink

Sounds like a solid plan. Federal Reserve Bank. Thats a big goal. Might need to have some sucessful experiance as a CFO at a large company first. I'm not sure but that seems practical.

Are you or have you wrote any papers on economics? If so I would be interested in which way your theories lend.

oh and yeah, those undergrads. I bet you get a lot of those. You have a nice table Wink

Boards, in your spare time, can you fix the clock that shows when we post? That would be cool.

That is actually a user specific setting. You have to go into your profile and change your time preferences.

I checked mine and it is 10:15 GMT time so that's correct. I did change my setting for summer time though.

Back to work, though the week is short and followed by a three day weekend.
