Coming to a gas station near you. If you drive a pre 2012 vehicle, this gasoline could damage your vehicle, so much so that several automakers have stated that if damage is caused by E-15 fuel they will void your warranty.

Ethanol is nothing but a scam and government mandates concerning ethanol are just a giveaway to the corn lobby.

Corn ethanol does nothing to reduce greenhouse gasses or increase energy efficiency. It takes lots of energy to grow corn: diesel for tractors and trucks to haul the product to ethanol refineries, etc. The ethanol itself has very low energy content, so the Energy Return on Energy Investment (EROEI) turns out to be a negative number in the end for the finished product.

Ultimatley, more petroleum ends up being used to make corn ethanol than is saved from the blended gasoline.

There are forces underway pushing Congress to change the renewable fuel mandate.

Makes no difference and is a waste of money unless you have a very high performance engine.

Like Markle said, there is no difference between 89or 87 octane gasoline unless you vehicle has a high performance engine. Engines installed at the factory and not high performance.

There are stations that sell Ethanol free gas.  Tab bit pricey around 4 dollars a gallon near here.  If you have to have it, Marine engines, lawn movers etc, Look for the signs that advertise Marine gasoline.  Here is a link to see if there is a station near you.....http://pure-gas.org/

I have to use a gasoline additive to clean up
The "engine" from the new gas in my 97 truck.

About every 5k miles it does work though

Some exotic sports cars with high compression engines use high octane.  Any standard car on the road today is just pouring money on the pavement.

my car is a very old Mercedes. it says right on the gas lever to only use super.

Im scared to use anything else because this car is in mint condition now and its costly to fix. I would be scared to even put a gas additive in it.

I recently took it on a trip and took me all day to make sure I was putting in the right coolant. its not normal coolant, I had to mix it.

im not a car expert either, so if you are Id be interested in knowing if with this car I should continue to use the more expensive gas, although I probably will anyway because im paranoid lol

If it says to use premium, I'd use premium.

I had a 380 SL Mercedes and it would knock with lo test gas...Knocking over time can probably damage something because it is an explosion wave at the wrong time in the stroke cycle...

Hi-test gas actually has additives that slow the combustion.  That allows the gas to be put under higher compression without "knocking", exploding prematurely.  Usually when you have regular knocking you'll also have dieseling when the ignition off.

so yes, it explodes at the wrong time of the stroke cycle which can cause damage.  Especially over a long period of time.
