The entire cabal is based on the fact that TV advertising costs big bucks -- too big for candidates to compete by constituent funding alone.

We rank 27th or 30th in healthcare quality among developed nations, and our budget for healthcare is the highest per patient of any system in the modern world.
Our minimum wages are so low that enormously profitable but unethical corporations like McDonald's refuse to pay living wages, but do provide assistance to their employees who seek State or Federal poverty aid.
Our environment is becoming untenable due to pollution.
The destruction of our middle-class is accelerating at precisely the same rate that our impoverished numbers are growing.
We have a dysfunctional government comprised of elected officials who cannot or will not deal with each other.
Daily revelations expose the folly, wastefulness, and arrogance of our security agencies, whose actions threaten our people and our national allies.
We have abrogated our Constitution in regard to secret arrests, torture, imprisonment and executions.
And somehow, we find ourselves still surrounded by idiots who want to shout that we're the greatest free nation in the world.
