Judy B and UWF drop the ball again...........

UWF did not keep any of their promises with Maritime Park......and it seems to be quite the track record now......maybe they should stick to their primary purpose.....educate kids.....

I thought Bense would be a breath of fresh air for UWF. My daughter got her BA and MS there and taught as an adjunct there as a grad-student and for two years afterward. She was telling me and my wife--for the past 2 years--that JB was not all that the media was hyping, and that problems and discontent were high at the university. She finished teaching the Spring-2013 semester and made the decision to not go back in the Fall (she needs to move on from that anyway). The recent articles in the paper about problems at UWF echo what daughter has been telling us for the past couple of years.

Why should the university have to support the Maritime Park as well as their true mission, education?

It didn't turn out to fit what they do and pulled out so no biggie.

I do see some of the Profs complaints with her though getting huge bonuses while tenured full professors only make 59k per year. It's sad that a person with a BA in Education at a local school district is only 7k behind that prof.

I know this because I took a great class with a great prof in the History department. He is the lead negotiator for the professors who haven't had a raise in eons while Judy B leads in hiring adjuncts without the qualifications that the others have.
