1/2 hour west on the Interstate on the south side you will see a casino......it has a great hamburger which you can watch them make the patties and cook them......get a root beer float and fries and I think the whole thing comes in for less than 10 bucks.....do not know if you have kids with you, or anybody else.....but the petrified forest is pretty cool and right off the interstate.....I have drove by it for years, but being sick we finally decided to take the time.......are you going to take in the grand canyon?........I have not seen the new bridge south of the Hoover Dam.....but I hope to if I ever get my bucket list.....poker tournament.

Its just me as I am heading west to do more training. I am going up the mountain on the tram this morning (sandia peak). I will do the Grand Canyon, just not on the way to my destination. It's not far from where I will be for the foreseeable future.

Holbrook Arizona now...

Flagstaff is where I will sleep before reaching my final destination tomorrow.

We like Flagstaff and got caught on a monster snow storm which closed the interstate, and we just dropped down enough elevation to get off the mountain.....there is a greek restaurant attached to an older route 66 motel which had two for one gyros which were great.  This time of year.....Flagstaff is really a relief from the heat.......hope you are enjoying the sights and be careful.

Grand Canyon Bound?

Headed to a base near there, but yes, I will see Grand Canyon more than once. During the last exercise in my school I attended in Texas I was paired up with an LT from St George, Utah. He broke it all down on things I could do and never see Vegas. It was amazing the amount of stuff in that area there is to do.
