Tis graphic depicts worldwide military spending arranged by country as they appear on a projection of the globe. The U.S. defense budget is equal to about half the world's total military spending, and some of the next big spenders are U.S. allies.

Some Republicans feel the Pentagon's budget--as huge as it is--has been "cut to the bone," by Congressional sequestration and is not large enough. Many of the 2016 GOP presidential contenders, if elected, would greatly expand military spending.

As usual...you do not like the thread and try to change the subject. We are spending four hundred percent more than most countries in Military spending so why be a piker on a 25% stat to change the subject.

America spends the most because we actually have a standard of living for our military which has to compete with the private sector for workers. We don't hire illegals and pay them cash under the table to defend the country. When and if we do that, this country is sure to fall. It's already a stupid idea to use military service as a way to earn citizenship for groups of people now who can hide their allegiance to another nation until they Allah Ahkbar themselves into a terroristic opportunity and kill people they serve with. A mutaey isn't cheap. If we do what Seaoat wants we might as well go ahead and put up the ISIS, Russian et al enter enemy flag here on too of the WH now. See, the folks like Z and Apegoat aren't about saving money on the budget from cutting military, those just water those cuts taken and applied to their favorite social programs instread. I wonder how long those social programs exist once we are no longer a free nation that
