Luxor, Egypt, a hot air balloon filled with tourists caught fire and crashed killing over a dozen people.
They were at a thousand feet in the air when the fire erupted. I don’t understand is why these balloons aren’t equipped with an emergency uncoupling device to separate the basket from the burning balloon. The basket could be equipped with propulsion deployed parachute such as they use on sport aircraft.
