@Wordslinger

Could you please learn to use the quote function a little more efficiently, and/or change the color of or put your reply in bold.

I enjoy your comments and look forward to reading them, but when they are embedded in a long reply chain, I have a hard time finding them.

Just a friendly suggestion.

Thanks.

The United States is doing very well......despite this manufactured doomsday politics. You see America is investing in Wind, and beginning a new oil boom which may extract as much oil from old oil fields as what was originally removed. The new pressurized fracking has caused an explosion of new oil rigs which I have never seen in America in my 61 years.

Part of the negativity of the media, and particularly Fox is that special interests are pouring money into politics and media to change the direction of technology. Coal is losing its relative power as wind is becoming very profitable. I have investor friends who are pouring money into wind as new turbines are getting a two year ROI, and run maintence free for 20 years thereafter. The new oil rigs in America just have blown me away as a former Geology minor in college. What I am see as I travel the American heartland, is a country which is not failing, but a country about to explode with prosperity.

I have been stopping in casinos all across America to play poker as I traveled to AZ, and my observation is America is doing just fine.

Does this work better for you? Thanks for the suggestion! To tell the truth, I'm never sure where to put my response -- at the top before the comment I'm responding to, or after? This one is after. Let me know huh?

I like America just fine.

I'm proud to be an American and citizen of the United States.

We're very popular and many, many people would love to live here.

CaptKaos, has a point.

Enlighten us with what makes you proud to be an American. And while you're at it, name one industrialized nation in Europe whose people would rather live here.

If you want to blow kisses to Captain Kaos ... be my guest. LOL

How about the UK? I understand some of those come over here to escape the high taxation. Would that count?

Good Lord. You make it sound like like I'm talking about a country's entire population. Get real.

There are way too many things/reasons to list about how/why I'm proud to be an American. In any case, I believe your hate prevents you from being able to be enlightened, no matter what. Thus, a waist of time.

I said CaptKaos has a point. If you want to be juvenile about it ... be my guest. LOL

I bet there are a lot of French people that would love to escape their socialist nightmare and come to America. Think about it. Or don't.

I suppose you have a good point there. And there are some of our people who would no doubt rather live in England than here. Better wages, less gun violence, and free medical care are attractive aspects ....

Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy... perhaps you don't keep tabs on the eu? The American dollar and country used to be the stuff of dreams. Ever wonder what drove the unrest there? Or in the middle east? It wasn't ideological or religious... It was economic. Stagnant wages... high unemployment... sluggish economy... rising taxes... forced austerity... sound familiar?

We are a bit isolated and insulated and aren't feeling the full effects yet... but you would have to admit we will.

We are after all making the nearly identical decisions that lead to their current predicament... right?

I agree. This isn't over by a long shot and the worst is yet to come.
