Okay stop everything. Did you actually play poker with Levin or are you yankin my chain. And I want the truth.

Why? Is Levin a movie star or something? He's a rich lawyer that is known in this area.Big deal.

It's a lot more than that. I wish I had a nickel for all the times people have told me the goddamndest things about Levin. He has his fingers in everything around here. But what makes it so cool is how he started out as a pawnbroker's kid. And his uncle was "Uncle Benny" Levin who ran the snowcone stand beside the casino at the beach. I've told the story so many times how when I was 8 years old that was the first alcoholic I became aware of. His nose look like Rudolf the Reindeer.

Fairly quiet... but always engaged... very observant (used that against him a few times with fake tells).

Was this a private game or some poker tournament setting? The reason I ask is if the former, I would expect a game Levin would be in could get the stakes pretty high. Are you a high roller like Levin?

A private game... there was a lot of money on the table a few times. The blinds weren't crazy high... but in no limit it can get interesting.

I heard they played higher on occasion... but most of the time 50/100 blinds... 5-6 buy ins would buy you a prius.

I play mostly 1-2 no limit. The idea of a 5k buy in........that is not a friendly game, and you would have to keep your eyes wide open. I was playing over at the dogtrack when these two guys were talking about a local game which had lots of money on the table when two men came in with shotguns.....took everything including rings, watches, and wallets. They all suspected an inside game. I would never play where there is 60k in a game....you are asking to get someone's head blown off in these times. Among poker players that type of game would be like shooting fish in a barrel. More money than skills. I have played in casinos and found fingernail polish on cards.....strategic creases in cards, and other signs of cheating......I would never sit in that type of game. If I want action....I can find it legally at the casinos.
