Not my original words, they are from an article on Politico. Hate to disappoint you.

Yes.

Because protecting children is such a loser with the electorate;

The poll, mostly taken before Obama released his recommendations, found 74 percent of Americans favor a ban on assault weapons, with 26 percent opposed. A ban on high-capacity ammunition clips was backed by 74 percent, and 26 percent were opposed.

The poll also found 86 percent favor expanded background checks of all gun buyers, including sales at gun shows and between private parties, with 14 percent opposed.

Polls are like assholes, everybody has one. I don't believe that poll for a second.

BTW Obama is not protecting children by wanting gun bans.

Everyone has a POLL/POLE, probably even you.

For Obama it's not about protecting anything, but it is about furthering his left wing agenda. Nothing that Obama put into his executive orders will stop another Adam Lanza for doing what he did right this very second.

Not one Assault Rifle or high capacity ammo magazine has protected a child from the killers at schools or movie theater.

I swear the Obama campaign was responsible for some of this silliness to make all Republicans look fricking idiots......it is so patently false that the average American would simply think legitimate criticism of the President was more of the same........America is changing......and I heard today that 53% of Americans support a path to citizenship for gainfully employed illegal aliens with clean criminal records.....the Republican primary was so off the pulse of America....and with these email firing up folks....the House will be lost in 2014.

The results of the 2012 election:
Obama 50.6%
Romney 47.8%

The results of the 2008 election:
Obama 53%
McCain 45.7%

Hardly an overwhelming majority....

True if one is going to use 1964 election results. However in today's elections, those numbers are considered "overwhelming." The same was said about George W Bush's 2000 and 2004 election results. Bush stated he'd won significant political capitol and he was going to spend it.
