It's my opinion that the best food in the country is my homemade spaghetti made here in the armpit of Brownsville (not the one in Texas).
I can say with complete sincerity that I've eaten from coast to coast and from sea to shining sea, and nothing tickles my tastes buds any better.
The only downside is that I have a tendency to keep eating it until the whole pot is empty.

Now you've gone and done it, WTM. There's nothing wrong with Texas that a vat of tar and some turkey feathers wouldn't fix. Jeb's son, George, has recently prefiled to run for office in Texas, and I'm sure there are complete idiots there who would vote for him. But I'm definitely not one of them. If you'll notice, Florida has similar problems...all from the same source.

When Texas became a state, the secession clause was retained in the state charter. People from Texas always talk about secession.

Yeah...sure they can. As soon as we close the DOD bases, stop the flow of Federal dollars, eliminate all subsidies, etc, etc, ad nausea....we'll see if they can stand on their own, W/OUT standing on the backs of their poor.

Thanx Bob. I'm sorry he misunderstood my PM's. I danced around the issue a little too much. What I meant was that he would be laterally exposed....not the target.

Nope, I guess my taste in food is not very cosmopolitan. I like simple foods. Nothing too fancy or complicated, no matter what part of the world I'm in.

What is the armpit of Florida? And what foods and music should I avoid there?

UH, you do understand that this thread has nothing to do w/ food, right....?

I love the food in almost every state I have visited, N-S-E-W. America has awesome food, period. We have so much of it, we even play with it, ie....mullet toss, hotdog eating contest, Mr. Potato Head, pie-eating contests, etc. Our largess is legendary and un-paralleled. We throw away billions of tons of food and even allow it to rot in fields rather than allow gleaners to reap that bounty.

But that has nothing to do w/ the reasons that a lot (perhaps a majority) of TX wingnut folk want to separate themselves from the USA.
