Really? Bring in people and take jobs from Americans and give it to those who are suspect at best, non-vetted, and 10-15% radical as has been proven in every refugee group that has left that cesspool of the Middle East? Don't worry about those African American kids who are at a 50% unemployment rate or African American men who still stand at a 20% unemployment rate....just bring in new people and hose Americans. How can the AA community give her the vote when she is blatantly circumventing any recovery they will ever have by wanting to do this?

Immigrants have built this country. There was a time when people like you were telling my Irish ancestors that they did not belong in America. Economic growth requires population. Immigration has always made America Great.

There's more than enough population to fill every job in this country. That's a totally lame argument.

You just disclosed you never took a college economics course. Actually, I was taught the same in my junior year in high school economics course.

But Trump said the reason why he has hired so many foreigner's in the past is because he cannot find qualified people here in the U.S. to be his chef, butlers, maids, gym trainers and so on. But the Palm Beach employment center says otherwise.

Also if Detroit is still like it was when I worked downtown across from the old tiger stadium no one wants to work within the city limits.

If the article is anywhere near true which I doubt there are others close by from the mideast in Dearborn that probably need workers.

1) I am Irish. You assumed incorrectly.

2) Here ya go, we vetted immigrants who came here and should do the same now.

http://classroom.synonym.com/process-did-immigrants-through-arrived-ellis-island-late-1800s-9519.html

The European immigrants who crossed the Atlantic on ships in the late 1800s and early 1900s were greeted by the Statue of Liberty. But before they could embark on their new life in the United States, they had to undergo examination and inspection. For most immigrants arriving to the northeast in 1892 and the decades that followed, this meant a stressful trip through the buildings on Ellis Island.

Waiting and Long Lines

When ships arrived in harbor, inspectors boarded the ship to perform a cursory inspection of first- and usually second-class passengers. The government thought that passengers who could afford a first- or second-class ticket they were less likely to become a burden to the public. These passengers were only sent to Ellis Island if they failed the cursory health or legal inspection.

Health Inspection

As immigrants filed through Ellis Island's large registry room, doctors would briefly scan each immigrant for obvious physical or mental health issues. Doctors or nurses used chalk to write letters on an immigrant's clothes to indicate possible health problems. An "H" indicated a possible heart condition while "LCD" meant loathsome contagious disease. Eventually, these rapid-fire physical health inspections came to be known as "six-second physicals."

****I guess with the outbreaks of once contained illnesses in the US, Obama isn't vetting the illegals at all.

A Barrage of Questions

The Immigration Service collected arrival manifests from incoming ships. The manifests contained passenger names as well as answers to several questions. An inspector, usually accompanied by an interpreter, asked each passenger a series of questions about potential destinations and job prospects.

Detention and Hearings

If immigrants failed the medical or immigration inspection, they were placed in detention until they could have a hearing in front of the Board of Special Inquiry, composed of inspectors. According to the National Archives at New York City, about 10 percent of immigrants had hearings, where evidence about the immigrant's medical health, economic conditions and beliefs was provided. Exclusion was often reversed if someone posted bond for an immigrant or an aid society took responsibility for the immigrant. Only about 2 percent of immigrants were deported, usually because they were considered a "likely public charge" on medical or economic grounds.

Paying the Way

Until 1909, immigrants entering the United States had to pay a head tax of 50 cents per person. This money contributed to the funding for the Office of Immigration. Ellis Island also hosted food vendors, immigrant aid societies and railroad ticket offices. When immigrant was detained, often for weeks, unscrupulous food contractors, money changers and sometimes even federal employees preyed on the vulnerable immigrant hopefuls.

Wrong

Almost three hundred years before the xenophobic response to immigration, there was zero vetting of immigrants.  It is a recent process which became particularly xenophobic as more Eastern Europeans, Catholics, and non white people began to emigrate.......quotas were developed and the same hateful process we face now and particularly as Nazi doctrine began to spread to America in 1920s when the worst of our laws were written.

Moron,
Yes they were vetted by the sponsors who financed their travels, you know the Virginia Company and the like. It was split between proprietary colonies and then Royal colonies. Not just anyone was financed. You are so stupid sometimes.

More on vetting from Theodore Roosevelt-

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
President Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Vetting hardly.....history is clear that for almost 200 years this country did NOT vet immigrants.....absurd. A schooner delivering rum from Cuba could have ten people on the crew get off and live as colonists without vetting, Ellis Island, or any other governmental interference.....we had wide open immigration and you can try to create a vetting process but you are void of historical knowledge....
