The chamber keeping the borders open to break unions and protections for working Americans, while playing the race and xenophobia card to keep the Dixiecrats onboard while the traditional business main street Republicans were squeezed out by wealth consolidation of the big donors who got their tax cuts and got the wars they needed to steal America, and secure their subsidies. Nope the Republican Party used to be a main street business party, but now is greed, theft, and hate. It is immoral and evil, and the best part is it somehow thinks it has hijacked the Christian vote who if a Christian votes in 2016 they would vote for Bernie.....No Trump destroys their fragile coalition of evil.....it is only fitting that the fascist vote actually brought an end to the modern Republican Party.

An outstanding analysis, Seaoat. There will not be a Republican President before 2024, earliest. The Baby Boomers will be too old to run at that time and late Generation Xers and early Millennials will be getting in range. Let's hope for a young Republican moderate who was born no earlier than 1980 getting the 2024 GOP nomination and fixing what is broken in our party.

The only issue at hand is politicians saying negative stuff about the current
condition the country is in.
And yes, the republicans are saying that all the time.
BUT, it is also saying negative stuff about the country to point out that our child poverty is the worst in the world. You can spin that any way you want, you can talk about fence sitting and dart throwing and pensacola history all you want. But all you're doing is obfuscating when you do.
And frankly what you're doing is like what every politician on that debate stage is doing when they avoid the actual issue the moderator raises and talk about something else which has nothing to do with it.
You would make an excellent career politician. You missed your calling.

However, for us chess players we think the Southern Strategy and bringing in Dixiecrats to attack the federal government as doing negative things like equal rights for all Americans is the point Bob.
