So...we have this from Alex Jones:  "they" had Scalia killed (his gut tells him)

Then there's Cruz:  I will 'absolutely' filibuster anyone Obama attempts to appoint to the Supreme Court.

How is it possible that this man is running for President?

There will be no insight from Markle.

Alex Jones may have a point this time. If you read each one of the accounts something just isn't right.

I think we can respect the fact that apparently the FAMILY is not asking for an autopsy, which is their right if they suspect foul play.  If the man's own family doesn't suspect he was murdered, who the heck is Alex Jones to stick his nutty nose in?????

Good grief this country is sick with paranoia.

Ted Cruz is a worm. He is not a good person and evil can win if good people do not get involved in the process. A year without Supreme Court Justice.....actually over a year because the new President will be in office in January 20th. If he appoints a person on the first day in office, it will take the Senate from thirty to sixty days to consent to his appointment, and that could take us to March of 2017. This is insanity when somebody says......anybody appointed will be stopped. What if this was the second year of the President's term? Mr. Cruz and the other crazies need to realize that the timing of the death of a Supreme Court Justice in terms of a Presidential term is defined in the constitution.....the President can make a nomination for the consent of the Senate at any time. Again the illusion of Republicans being strict constructionist is the big lie which has existed for the last twenty years.....these are dixiecrats who have been upset since Jim Crow was reversed by the Court.

I predict at least six Republican senators will break ranks and not be part of this insanity. Not all Republicans are crazy Dixiecrats, but loyal Americans.

The sudden death of Justice Scalia creates an immediate vacancy on the most important court in the United States.

Senator McConnell is right that the American people should have a voice in the selection of the next Supreme Court justice. In fact, they did — when President Obama won the 2012 election by five million votes.

Article II Section 2 of the Constitution says the President of the United States nominates justices to the Supreme Court, with the advice and consent of the Senate. I can't find a clause that says "...except when there's a year left in the term of a Democratic President."

Senate Republicans took an oath just like Senate Democrats did. Abandoning the duties they swore to uphold would threaten both the Constitution and our democracy itself. It would also prove that all the Republican talk about loving the Constitution is just that — empty talk.

You will see senators up for election in Il, Wi, Pa, Oh, Ky, mo, NH and UT., and you will see strict construction Republicans being very queasy for the precedent which would be taken by this crazy fringe where we have not seen a vacancy for a year since the civil war which is exactly what the fringe is trying to do here.

Despicable... I wish y'all had the class this lady possesses in just the last digit of her little finger.

" He was a jurist of captivating brilliance and wit, with a rare talent to make even the most sober judge laugh. The press referred to his 'energetic fervor,' 'astringent intellect,' 'peppery prose,' 'acumen,' and 'affability,' all apt descriptions. He was eminently quotable, his pungent opinions so clearly stated that his words never slipped from the reader’s grasp.

Justice Scalia once described as the peak of his days on the bench an evening at the Opera Ball when he joined two Washington National Opera tenors at the piano for a medley of songs. He called it the famous Three Tenors performance. He was, indeed,a magnificent performer. It was my great good fortune to have known him as working colleague and treasured friend." Justice Ginsburg

http://nypost.com/2016/02/15/detectives-question-lack-of-autopsy-in-scalia-death/

Veteran homicide investigators in New York and Washington, DC, on Monday questioned the way local and federal authorities in Texas handled the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

“It’s not unreasonable to ask for an autopsy in this case, particularly knowing who he is,” retired Brooklyn homicide Detective Patricia Tufo told The Post.

“He’s not at home. There are no witnesses to his death, and there was no reported explanation for why a pillow is over his head,” Tufo said. “So I think under the circumstances it’s not unreasonable to request an autopsy. Despite the fact that he has pre-existing ailments and the fact that he’s almost 80 years old, you want to be sure that it’s not something other than natural causes.”

Bill Ritchie, a retired deputy chief and former head of criminal investigations for the DC police, said he was dumbstruck when he learned that no autopsy would be performed.

Bill Ritchie, a retired deputy chief and former head of criminal investigations for the DC police, said he was dumbstruck when he learned that no autopsy would be performed.

“I took a look at the report and I almost fell out of my chair,” Ritchie told The Post from his home in Maryland.

“I used to be an instructor in the homicide school. Every death investigation you are handling, you consider it a homicide until the investigation proves otherwise,” Ritchie said.

“How do you know that person wasn’t smothered? How do you know it’s not a homicide until you conduct an investigation? You have to do your job. Once you go through that process, you can conclude that this is a naturally occurring death.”

Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara said she declared Scalia dead via telephone based on what cops and marshals at the scene told her — that there were no signs of foul play.

“How in the world can that Texas judge, not even seeing the body, say that this is a heart attack?” Ritchie wondered. “A US marshal can’t tell you. You need a medical professional. If this was Joe Blow, you say OK, 79 years of age, health problems, maybe natural causes. But this is a sitting justice of the Supreme Court!”

He also declined a security detail.

How many logical fallacies can be crammed into a few comments? This guy is pushing the envelope.

Let's all be thankful that this guy is no longer an instructor of anything, particularly logic.

Yes it does, Sal.   And don't forget conservative talk radio, with its relentlessly mind-numbing attacks on "the left."   Those people are to blame for much of the fear you mention, as well as the hate and anger that continually add yet more danger to the "toxic stew."

Do you have a working knowledge of the left? I suspect not. The goals of a person like slinger for example are clear. He wants the federal govt to rule supreme. He wants innocent citizens that are causing no harm to be subject to the whims of his subjective visions. He rationalizes this with some feeeel good goal... that never actually accomplishes what it is intended to... but instead squashes free will and free determination. I can only think you either don't care... or don't understand how his ideology works. Even stalin, mao, hitler... etc... worked progressively to meet objectives. To slam authoritarianism onto the masses doesn't work. I guess you could liken their ideology to a leak... it isn't a blowout... but it also doesn't mean that a terminal problem doesn't exist. You wind up flat either way. Right here in this thread they wished for another justice to die because he doesn't tow their vision. I would recommend that you look at the early days of progressivism. Woodrow using wwi to collectivise the individualist... the jeffersonian citizen. The progressives supporting the nazis... the cloak of progressivism which still mirrors fascism. Which is basically socialism/communism with the pretense of capitalism... because afterall control is effective ownership. I can understand you wishing to get along here... but I can assure you that their friendship is highly conditioned. Ask Z... on the rare occasion he disagrees with them (climate change)... they attack.
