It's on YouTube already, Bob. Fascinating.... It reinforced what I always knew; that George W. Bush was the worst president of my lifetime. His election in 2000 was an American tragedy.

Thanks for sharing it!

Yes, it is custom tailored red meat for the loyal few.

It is well known that Mr. Zakaria HATES the Bush family and much of America. He has been suspended at least twice by CNN for plagiarizing dozens of his pieces. It must have greatly pained CNN to suspend such a loyal Progressive and hater of the Bush family.

Mr. Zakaria, who just happens to be Muslim, also HATES the strength of America's military just as does his hero semi-retired President Obama.

It is an old re-run which ran a couple months ago. Perhaps CNN figured they might attract a few of the rabid Bush haters in time slots for which they had nothing else. I watched bits and pieces before and there was not a line or hardly a word that was not deprecating to President George Bush and America in general.

I'm sure their ratings will be off the charts....

..."what many regard as the Bush administration's single biggest mistake in the first few months after Saddam Hussein's ouster—the order, in May 2003, to disband the Iraqi army.
It was a move that put 250,000 young Iraqi men out of a job, out on the streets, angry, and armed—and all but guaranteed the violent chaos to come".

Those chickenhawk neocons love to play war.   Problem is,  like children playing with matches,  they don't really think about the consequences.

What they did is even worse than just poke a stick into a hornet's nest.
By doing so,  they then let the hornets fly away to create other nests in the same vicinity.
And this was AFTER Dick Cheney of all people had told them that's exactly what would happen when he explained why Bush 41 was wise enough NOT to do it.
But then he became the Chairman and CEO of a large corporation which profits from the U.S. going to war.
And coincidence of all coincidences,  he then did a complete flip-flop.

It's the sunni that commit the vast majority of terrorist acts. So I think those troops were going radical anyway.

They were either going to rule as a minority dictatorship... or commit extremist atrocities as jihadists.

There was never going to be any way to compromise or find middle ground with either sect. Never will be.

I still say we need to get the hell out of their holy war. Let the mic sell them enough arms to effectively kill each other.

Saddam was Sunni.  And he was not into jihadi'ism.  In fact he and Bin Laden were enemies.
The members of the Iraqi Army weren't jihadists either.  At least not until they no longer could be part of an army.
The best way to describe what they were is to compare Saddam and his army to Kim Jung Un and his army.  They were the strong arm of a dictatorship.

The loyal few.......the vast majority of Americans cannot be fooled again. They are not a few, but are 80% of Americans who KNOW Iraq was George Bush's historic mistake, and one that NOBODY but the shills for MIC and NEOCONS want to now repeat. it was horrible mistake which Mr. Markle and the NEOCONs now try to blame President Obama to find an excuse to fool the American public a second time and put more boots on the ground.....Mr. Markle's plastic bubble is getting smaller and smaller......

If anyone wants to doubt that,  then all he need do is consider the stance of each Republican presidential candidate.
Thirteen of the fourteen (or however many are left now) candidates now say the Iraq war was a mistake.  Even including Bush's brother.
And of course they've all taken this position because they want to be in line with the public who coincidentally are also the voters.  lol

They may be saying it was a mistake to invade Iraq, but almost every one of them would have "boots on the ground" in a heartbeat. And Doug Feith is a dual Israel/US citizen.

From Secretary of Defense,  to Chairman and CEO of a military contractor corporation,  to Vice-President.

That's like the fox guarding the henhouse,  then being promoted to becoming manager of the food and water department of the henhouse,  and then moving on up to becoming the henhouse VP.  To a human puppet President under his control.  And now daddy informs us it actually was the fox,  dressed in a bald headed halloween costume.

True, disbanding the army and police was a major error which was recommended by an independent commission.

When General Petraeus took over, he too pointed out that it was a mistake and not necessary. Of course, hind sight is always 20/20.

Then again, Progressives love to end wars, they just can't bring themselves to WIN. That would be so un-politically correct. Don't you find that to be so?

Amen, Bob! It is disgusting to see men like Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith, etc., who were too scared to serve in the military themselves suddenly become conservative, flag-waving 'warhawks.' Throw Dumbya in there, too. His record of hiding in the Texas Air National Guard, where his performance was sub-par [kind of akin to his presidency], has been noted.

Historical references to that bunch will be a paragraph long and it will not be positive. I don't think you will see any aircraft carriers named after Dumbya.

I do remember Vietnam, up close and personal.

A war greatly expanded by JFK and Lyndon Johnson. ANOTHER war where politicians ran the war instead of the military. In effect we were at war with China who were supplying North Vietnam.

What we did in abandoning South Vietnam was criminal. President Nixon had no other options as the US was coming apart with violent demonstrations but millions of our allies were murdered.

Viet Nam and its people did just fine once Americans stopped their aggression. The monolithic communist threat like the war on terrorism was a MIC construct which never existed.

I don't remember any violent demonstration's in 74 or 75, but he did need to put an end to it. But you just admitted a conservative ended a conflict that could not be won. Sort of like your statement.

The conflict could have been won.

We started pulling out in 1971. By 1974 it was a forgone conclusion.

Really? Vietnam did just fine after America left.

So you and your comrades believe that 3,800,000 people being murdered after we left for political reasons is a good thing to you.

That explains why you all think ISIS is such a good thing along with semi-retired President Obama.

No I actually agree with ALL of the democrat candidates and ALL of the republican candidates.
Even though Kim Jung Il is slaughtering and starving his own people,  and even though Kim Jung Il actually has weapons of mass destruction,  including nukes and the missiles to deliver them;  even though all of that,  NOT ONE presidential candidate democrat or republican is advocating that we invade North Korea,  bomb North Korea with drones,  send in special ops,  or anything else.  Not even Lindsey Graham who wants to go to war at the drop of a hat.

And I don't think it's because any of them "think North Korea is such a good thing".

Just wow... it's scary how much has to be ignored to believe this. Minh's brutality backed by china created the issue. The "communist threat" existed before and continued after. Trying to romanticize it doesn't erase innocents slaughtered for a barbaric ideology. The truth is graphic and can't be transformed into simply a leftist evil american imperialism talkingpoint.
