Visa waiver program.....twenty million....Syrian refugees.....10k

Going after refugees is like going after Brazil after Pearl Harbor........I stole this from the independent senator from Maine.....the man is brilliant. He said three quarters of the Syrian refugees are children and elderly, yet this hysteria is being manipulated under the guise of concern for our safety, but NOTHING is being done on the Visa waiver program.....nothing. What a sad time in America when hate and fear can stop America from being the courageous nation we once were. Small weak scared people do not make a great nation.

This bill calls for 7000 hours of review of Syrian orphans, widows and grandparents, completely bogging down our intelligence community....but it calls for the FBI to do this......the FBI who is undermanned dealing with real terrorist plots and real threats, is now burdened to take this extra step.....it is not only idiotic, but the very bill meant to protect America makes us less safe because of our butchmeup hysteria......How did this country become so wussified? It was not by accident. Just like Mr. Markle thinks a hundred people dying in France is reason to send troops to the middle east, this is not being done in without a plan. ISIS is the creation of two of our allies who wanted to neutralize Syria. The military industrial complex makes blood money by connecting terrorism to military spending. A nexus which is insane. We have lost our way.

Have we not learned from our history of hysteria where fear and prejudice put children in interment camps only because they they were Japanese.   Hysteria which did not allow Jewish immigrants from the Nazi horrors because they might be communist.  President Roosevelt wanted to let 20k children to come to America when it was voted down by congress and a Mississippi representative said they might be cute kids now but in twenty years they will be Kikes.(as reported by representative Nadler from NY)

What a horrible thing we have become scared and weak people .   America has been a symbol of strength and justice.   How low have we fallen when we have hysteria about a few Ebola cases, or refugee children from Central America, our racism and fear remains constant where because of racist immigration laws in the twenties, another two million jews died in World War 2.   What have these families in Syria done.   They are victims.  Their lives have been devastated by our allies destruction of their nation by supporting ISIS and our horrible mistake of invading Iraq.   It is time for Americans to stand for higher ideals.   It is time for Christians to heed the words of Jesus.  It is time to call the butchmeups of this world for what they are......cowards.

You are the one being manipulated. Syria is being bombed by the Russians, bombed by the US, and now bombed by the French. The casualties there dwarf the number of people killed in the attack on Paris. And there was a recent attack in Lebanon that has all but escaped media attention. ISIS (Daesh) is being funded by Saudi Arabia and probably by the Israelis. We don't want to be a pawn in their game.

I am a christian. I believe in the words and philosophy of Jesus. T, you pretend to be a Christian. How can any follower of Jesus take people who have been tortured and seen members of their families killed by evil, and then paint them as the evil. I believe Christ's values.......and make no apologies. I can be made fun of for my beliefs, but it is certain what Christ would do if he was making this decision. It is clear that evil and non believers have filled that void. Fear and prejudice is not what a strong Christian does.

I think if anybody on this forum has seen the horrors of War, T most certainly understands. How he can characterize victims as evil......I just do not have words which can describe my disappointment. He understands the evil of war, but then out of the other side of his mouth, he fears the victims of war because of their religious beliefs. I am thankful that your family has been protected by laws our founding fathers wanted to protect religious freedom without fear of persecution. I know as an individual you are compassionate, but your fear of Muslims is so unnecessary.

The Cuban Missile Crisis was the real deal.....did Americans cower....no, they were firm and rational. The Joint chiefs wanted war and irrational fear to rule. We had strong and wise leadership to deal with a real threat. If I die from lightening or a terrorist it will be unusual, but if you need to fear the same to rationalize your fear of diverse people.....hey....I have always offered to get you a night light, but for some reason you remain scared. I hope I just fade away with the cancer, but If I get killed by a terrorist I hope my family does not succumb to fear, and immediately celebrate life and the freedom we have. look I have had 3 inch shells flying within a few feet of my head, had antishipping mines explode under me outside Haiphong harbor, had 6/ 500 lb bombs explode up my starboard side and fill my radar antenna with shrapnel. took a dose at a nuclear test and got commendations for performance under fire. We would rather scapegoat victims of the very people we are supposed to be fighting. It's always just the two extremes.  Democrats like seaoat who still hold to the notion that the bombers who blew the legs and arms off people in Boston are nothing but "common criminals" like me sneaking milk duds into the movie theater.  They have nothing whatever to do with the muslim religion.

And then there's Donald Trump.  He wants to remove everybody from the country who aint a white anglo saxon protestant and not let nobody else in.

Of course common sense lies somewhere between the two extremes like always.  But extremism wins out against common sense.
