Oregon gunman singled out Christians during rampage

A 26-year-old gunman singled out Christians for slaughter during a rampage at an Oregon community college Thursday, leaving at least 9 people dead and many more wounded, survivors and authorities said.

“The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian,” tweeted “@bodhilooney,” who said her grandmother was inside the Umpqua Community College classroom that was the scene of the 10:40 a.m. carnage.

If that turns out to be true, does that make you feel differently about gun access and laws?  If not, then what difference does it make who the victims are?

It makes a difference who the victims are because most of you folks sit here and say Christians aren't persecuted and this event was wholesale Christian persecution

What about all the other mass shootings? See, it makes no difference to me who the victims are, I see them as innocent human beings that didn't deserve to be gunned down. The only common denominator in all these shootings is a person with a gun.

Another good reason to terminate all religious affiliation. Once again the disharmony and conflict leading to blood and violence is fueled by religious fervor. Think about it. In this mass shooting by a whacko with several guns, his religious views conflict with their religious views. The result is dead believers.

There must be some benefit to believing a recognized religion ... or maybe not!

The fact that Mercer is mixed race will also make it impossible for progressives to blame the shooting on all white people, as many did in the aftermath of the Dylann Roof shooting.

Mercer reportedly targeted Christians during the shooting, asking victims about their religion and shooting anyone who identified as a Christian in the head.

And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you are going to see God in just about one second.’ And then he shot and killed them,” Stacy Boylen, whose daughter was wounded at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., told CNN.
