I heard an astonishing claim about Donald Trump on NPR yesterday.

Some journalist has done the legwork and run the numbers and has discovered this.
That if Trump, instead of taking his inheritance and using it to do business, had instead just invested the inheritance in the stock market at the time he inherited it, that he would now have more net worth than obtained from doing business.
Which, if true, implies that all his much heralded business career could have been replaced with doing nothing and doing nothing would have made him richer.

But I will have to add this. If Trump had done nothing, then when I walked down Waikiki Beach I would not have been able to look up and see the name "TRUMP" in 40 foot tall letters on the side of a skyscraper. And that was pretty entertaining to see.
