Many many sincere thanks to all of you. I know this sounds trite but as i was leaving the VA I thought "This is unreal, I need to tell this to my friends on the forum"
When I first found out I had a issue about 6 months ago when I went ot he local VA for a vision check, . The pressure in my left eye was 39 my right eye 27. They all asked if I have Trauma to my left eye, as I was almost totally blind in that eye. I dont think so, not directly to the eye, maybe to the head. Evidently I have not been able to see properly out of my left eye for a long time. Now the interesting part.
The doctors at Biloxi seem to be very very good The equipment is first class. at least we get something from our tax money. They go the extra mile to make you feel like you are someone special. Before someone jumps my ass with a VA horror story, this is just my personal experiences and I stand behind it
They all work together. Last time I had a young doctor but he really knew his stuff. My left eye has a classic "pigment dispersion syndrome" They said it was the perfect example. The doctor asked if I would mind if the other doctors could see it. "They did. Comments were like Wow, perfect, best example I have every seem. Enough of that But what was neat that they all stayed and discussed the conditions of my eyes and a plan of action.
Fast forward to yesterday. Different doctor, a young lady but one of the other doctors was the same. All is good. I go in and they put me in a room and she discusses the procedure with me.Explains the risks and what they hope to achieve. She reads me the "I agree' list and I sign. Again way cool, all electronic with a signing deal like at a bank. She says she needs to check a few things before they move me down into the other room.. She looks and looks, makes some notes. Looks again. Says this is very very interesting. I need to go talk with my supervisor. She comes back and asks me a lot of question when a older doctor(obviously her supervisor) comes in and She quickly looks at my eye. Then we talk.
The pressure in my left eye has dropped from 39 to 17 my right eye has dropped to 15!!!! I still have severe damage to the optic nerve in my left eye but I was actually able to see a few big letters with it. A vast improvement and my headaches have almost went away.
So what happened? I Think it was the result of many things.
good doctors, good equipment, having someone who actually cared about their job and followed though on the right thing to do. Side note I read on the internet that Spinach and Green tea could reduced the pressure in your eyes. I have been eating a least 6z of raw spinach(dont thow up, it is actually pretty good) and large picture of cold Green tea every day.
Of course my ego says the Tons of Spinach and Green tea had a factor in all of this
I dont know
But what i do know is that I am a very lucky man. Even better, is that I have good friends like all of you that I can share some of lifes drama........ I thank all of you.............. Thanks for listening.
It was truly a Miracle in Biloxi.
