Economists were looking for roughly 230,000 jobs.

Terrible news for republicans.

I think it's great news. No matter what the job if money is coming into a family that's good news. I've seen the face of a man burdened with losing his job last year right before Christmas and then the joy on his face to be able to work what many would call a low end job. A job is a job when it feeds family or a single person.

Business and the economy is cyclical. Always good to see the up side.

I read this which is typical of the PT Obama economy:

Average hourly earnings jumped 0.4 percent in November after edging up 0.1 percent the month before. Expectations were for a 0.2 percent rise. Average weekly hours edged up to 34.6 hours from 34.5 hours in October. Analysts expected 34.6 hours.

And unfortunately, this is the problem with the Obama economy. Real jobs should be created, not a full load of PT workers with no benefits and such. These are jobs that are a full 24-25% less in pay than the prerecession era jobs and not even 40 hours per week. It's like taking a 33% pay cut.

It's like taking a 33% pay cut.

You do not even have the integrity to give the President credit for unprecedented economic recovery and job creation. People are happy to be finding work. Families who were struggling are finding jobs and opportunities, retired folks are seeing restoration of value in 401ks and the stock market is at record levels. All that is needed is return of tax rates and this broken Reaganomics will be in the rear view mirror.

There's no hope in a PT economy Seaoat. You're a giant hypocrite. Had you worked a PT economy your entire life, you would not be able to live your final years as you are and afford the medical care you are getting. Yet, you think it's OK for this generation to do so.

There's nothing to give this dork credit for unless you want a laundry list of failure posted.

Do you even realize what you just posted? Earnings growth exceeded analysts expectations and hours met analysts expectations.

Where on earth are you getting the idea that all or even most of these jobs are part time? You realize you just posted numbers that say average weekly hours increased, right?

Good god. You really suck at connecting the dots.

Benefits are compensation too... it's more than just the hours and wages. Where's the proliterate outrage?

A direct objective of obamacaid was to separate healthcare from employment... where does that biz expense go?

I don't think there's anything random or accidental about these results... it's obviously going exactly as planned.

This is how a keynesian service economy performs under an enormous military and social entitlement burden.

Not all news deemed good is indeed good news.

Can I rise above political mudslinging, see the big picture, or find a story close to home that is reflected in the statistics? Yes.

Real job? Tell a man who goes from zero pay to $8.00 an hour and can buy groceries that he does not have a "real" job.

$8 an hour? Why would you even bother to talk about $8 an hour? one person cannot even survive on it much less more.

In the Obama Economy, he wants you to take more welfare and work for less money. It is his plan.

I wonder how many PT workers hired for Black Friday and Christmas shopping were included?

Solid job growth and GDP expansion in the upper 3% to 4% range?

My point is that our forum republicans - with you being the sole exception - believe that these numbers are fake. They believe there is a massive conspiracy to fake these numbers in order to make Obama look good. Hence, they do not accept these numbers. In republican land, we're losing jobs, the economy is still in recession, and our deficits are exploding. In reality, the exact opposite is the case in all of those fronts...but in republican-land...BENGHAZI!!!!1111

Are you under the impression that an average 34.6 hour work week is less than normal? You seem to be implying that it is, but I want to confirm if that is the case or not. Is it?

Numbers can give different stories.  If I'm looking for a particular end, I can say report xyz shows this.  Another person can take report xyz and say it shows that.

In my personal world I'm seeing people return to work who have been out of work.

If you go from 0 to a paycheck then that's a real job.

And, in some of the cases I've seen, people are taking two part time jobs to makeup for the fact they cannot totally support themselves or a family with $8.   Nothing wrong with that.  And I'm sure it is reflecting in the numbers.  Again...that's fair and real.

Everyone has their own subjective way of framing this objective data. We all have to agree, however, that the results we are seeing under Obama are markedly better than the previous administration. They're not even in the same zip code. You agree, correct? More private sector jobs were added to the economy in November 2014 than during the entire 8 years of the Bush administration. Spin that however you like (treading water, sprinting full speed, etc..), but there is no question that - however you describe what is happening now - it is absolutely better than what has happening under the previous administration. And this is the case in virtually any outlet that you choose to look at. Jobs. Deficits. Foreign policy. Etc. Etc.

September and October were both revised up for an addition 44K.

November was the 50th consecutive month of job growth - best stretch since 1939.

56th consecutive month of private sector job growth - longest stretch on record.

2014 will easily be the best year of job growth since 1999.

The wingnutz have to put themselves through some severe contortions to spin this all as anything but good news.

I would respect some of the people around here when I see them tell the truth. However, like a child who took the cookies from the cookie jar.......well it was dad........it was the baby........it was santa claus..........it was you mom.......anything but yes I took the cookies. How hard is it to admit that President Obama has been one of the most successful Presidents in fifty years. You can still disagree with his policies. I do. However, he has done a remarkable job domestically and in foreign relations. His patience and intelligence are remarkable.
