There can be but one purpose behind the Ferguson police chief releasing info on alleged theft of a box of Swisher cigars by the dead, unarmed teenager who a Ferguson cop gunned down; to vilify the homicide victim.

It's the timing that's unforgivable; the premature release of the cigar store story served to re-fire the black population who clearly perceived this act to be yet another symbol of [white] police disrespect for the victim and his family.

Somebody needs to gag Ferguson's police chief before he ignites a race war.

The good news is, the chief wasn't wearing a pointed hat and a white sheet robe.

Let us change the facts. Three witnesses give testimony that a police officer rapes a 15 year old girl. That she was kicking and screaming and yelling help as he struck her to the ground and tore her clothes off and proceeded to rape her. When the community got upset with the non release of information about the officer and why criminal charges had not been filed, the police chief held a press conference and announced the officer's name. He then gave to the press a facebook video which showed only hours before the girl getting high on pot..........he then tells the press who ask "what does the facebook video have to do with the police report on the rape, and why are you releasing it now.............because the press asked for it.

Who is left in America who can support or make excuses for this police department? Sadly, I feel sorry for the police chief........I think his instructions are coming from the SA.......this is as crooked as my broken finger.

Apples and Oranges, Seaoat. Rape can never be justified.

Missed the point again. It is not the crime which is our concern. It is the victim.

Your analogy is still incorrect.

Attacking victims of crime to justify the criminals actions.........the perfect analogy.

Today's NY Times points out that the Federal Justice Department advised the Ferguson Police Chief not to make public the alleged "strong-arm" robbery of the convenience store by Mr. Brown. Attorney General Holder's office told the Times they also had the store videos but determined that presenting that news to the public would only serve to rile the protestors in Ferguson.

Evidently, Ferguson's police chief refused to take the advice of the justice department.

Ferguson obviously needs a new police chief, and considerable public relations training for the department, as well as the hiring of several African-American officers.

The latest word is that the Missouri governor has now ordered a curfew.

Once again, let me point out that regardless of Mr. Brown's alleged involvement in robbing the convenience store, he was unarmed and gunned down by an excited cop at a time when he was attempting to flee. He was, at the time, no threat to the cop or the public at large.

The feds will be going before grand juries to pursue justice in this case, regardless of how the City of Ferguson goes forward.

One good thing that has resulted from this tragedy, is the focus of a very bright spotlight on the use of military equipment and attire by police departments when confronted for the most part by non-violent protestors.

Reality.
