I think we all, millions of us, should buy as many rare earth magnets as we can afford. Then we should go to the center of D.C. and drop them in the sewer system, go home and hope for an iron asteroid to pass close....

Dang it, Lurch, that is almost exactly what I was going to say, except for borrowing the money from China.

There’s a great quote from Atlas Shrugged that comes to mind which sums this all up:
