Gohmert projected the responsibility for such circumstances onto Obama. "No," he said, "that would be an impeachable offense by the president." Surely we can all agree that this is the most elegant way out of this mess.

Who the fuck would be stupid enough to send a dunderhead like Louie Gohmert to Congress??

Oh, Northeast Texas?

... never mind.

Well there's no doubt about one thing.  If the government defaults,  then the elected officials in one party caused it all and should be impeached,  while the elected officials in the other party are heroes who did everything humanly possible to stop it and should have their faces put on mt rushmore.
And to know which party is which I will have to flip a coin and tune in to either fox news or msnbc but not both because that will just confuse me.

On the other hand,  they cried wolf about the sequester being the end of the world,  and then they cried wolf about the shutdown being the end of the world,  not to mention they said if we didn't invade and occupy iraq and make it a democracy, the mooslims would take us over and that would be the end of the world and it looks like they cried wolf about that too.
In other words,  they've cried wolf so many times,  how can we believe them about the default being the end of the world either.

So I've reached this conclusion.  From now on I'm going to ignore everything about the government and stop watching the democrat and the republican media.  And instead watch UFO youtubes and hope that whoever is in those UFO's will come down and rescue me.

There wouldn't be any reason to default unless it's done as an intentional act to create some bs crisis or political stunt.

Right, when obaba sticks to his guns and refuses to compromise on issues, ie healthcare bill etc etc etc its good and holy.

when the other side refuses to budge because they demand COMPROMISE which is wwhat this country is founded on, they are terrorist.

I get it. You love dictators and anyone who crosses the dictator is evil.

There are consequences with elections. 2/3s the government is not going to change the Affordable Care Act......get over it. The 2016 election is the first opportunity for modifications of the bill which may not have consensus. You were wrong on both elections, and you were wrong on the Supreme Court decision, why in the world would President Obama hurt people when the majority of Americans made the law possible. Win the 2016 election and then you get the right to govern, in the meantime these folks are petty terrorists who hopefully all good Republicans will primary these bastards and take their party back from the terrorist.

more mumbo jumbo

so basically what you just said is my side lost. and when one side looses they need to step aside and let the other side do what ever the fuck they want without any compromise. Yep, that's exactly what you just said, ty comrade.

Reaching the debt ceiling does not mean that the government will default on the outstanding government debt. In fact, the U.S. Constitution forbids defaulting on the debt (14th Amendment, Section 4), so the government is not allowed to default even if it wanted to.

In reality, if the debt ceiling is not raised in the next two weeks, the government will actually have to prioritize its expenses and keep its monthly, weekly, and daily spending under the revenue the government collects. In simple terms, the government would have to spend an amount less than or equal to what it earns. Just like ordinary Americans have to do in their everyday lives.
