Yet it is a little-known, and highly ironic, fact that Canada is missing any formal nutrition assistance programs at the federal or provincial level. Where America has federally-funded programs like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), nutrition for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and school lunch programs, Canada has…nothing.....

....Canada is one of the only countries in the industrialized world that doesn’t support school meals, for example.....

And you all thought Canada was a socialist enclave....

I think they give you cash. The term welfare and food stamps is too degrading.  Wink

Canada has welfare and free medical. It is provided by the provinces not the govt.

What do you think the provinces are other than government?

There is no such thing as "free medical".  You sound like the folks in Detroit.

These are figures based on a family of 3 in Florida which has no state income tax.

Keep in mind in Florida I believe the sales tax is 7% depending on your county. Sales taxes in Quebec and Ontario are about 13% to 15%, respectively.  European Countries have a 12 – 19% Value Added Tax (VAT)

And you still gotta pay the other 20% on US healthcare so Canada is better.

Sorry, that was included under the health care and it has never been anywhere near 20% of someone gross income.

Cute try!
