I would call this a form of Protestantism, but it's so far removed from other Protestant sects that it's practically in a world of its' own. I couldn't find my previous "lying for the lord" post. It seems that, if challenged, Mormon leadership denies that a valid question was asked and just makes up a new question...the one that "should have been asked." And, as far as I can see, both Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were nothing but hucksters.

God was once a man like us.
God has a tangible body of flesh and bone.
God lives on a planet near the star Kolob.
God ("Heavenly Father") has at least one wife, our "Mother in Heaven," but she is so holy that we are not to discuss her nor pray to her.
Jesus was married.
We can become like God and rule over our own universe.

I was taught in the Baptist church I grew up in that "Protrstants" we're those who protested and broke away from the Catholic church, eg.Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Methodists. Baptists did not consider themselves protestants because were followers of John the Baptist, Christ's cousin, before the age of the Protestants.

Mormon's are not Protestants. They believe the church is the restored Church of Christ that was formed in the first century AD through the prophet John Smith.

Are there any fact finders or editors in journalism anymore?
