Just in case anyone was wondering about that beautiful piece of Americana. That is the Jack Daniels distillery's recently delivered 105' ladder truck, built by Americans at the Pierce plant in Appleton Wisconsin. It has a 100 gallon prepiped AFFF foam system as well as an onboard dry chemical system. !0 KW PTO generator and loaded with other cool toys. Its the same rig I drive at work.

Hey Gunz. Nice ladder. How much foam will 100 gallons make? I never used the stuff.

Many years ago when I worked for the city, we had a call to go to the airport and tow a Ladder truck to the shop. We took the big wrecker and headed out. Only one problem, the damn things are so long you can not just hook up to the front and tow away. The rear of the truck hits the pavement before you can get it high enough to hook up. We flat fulled the rig back to the shop. It would run(think it had transmission issues) so the brakes and steering would work. I got to steer, my friend was the rear tiller dude, and another guy drove the wrecker. It was quite a ride LOL The firemen laughed their asses off. They said we looked like a monkey doing a football. So I have maybe 4 miles as a Fire truck Driver guy. LOL Firemen make a lot of things look easy that are almost impossible to do. ........................................I almost forgot.....The Police saw us and figured we might crash the rig so they have us a escort to the shop.....

In the future, Gunz won't be fighting fire with water or foam. He will be squirting acoustic sound waves at a fire instead.

Putting water or foam on a fire disrupts its chemical reaction, but soundwaves attack the physics of combustion. I saw another video and it showed how low-acoustic sound waves can put out flames. So, if you don't have a fire-extinguisher, but have a bass-guitar, you should be okay.....

I think that a fire extinguisher would be a bit cheaper than a bass guitar. lol!

Z, you gotta have transducers on both sides of the flame for that to work. It would be a great technology if they could perfect it, though.

Water damage from putting out the fire is sometimes more costly than the damage the fire causes. It would be nice if we could figure out how to put out a fire without the collateral damage that water causes.

That 100 gallons will yield about 1800 gallons of foam/water when injected into the stream.
