Too bad this video could not be put in a time-capsule and sent back to the Whitehouse in late 2002, so Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condoleeza Rice, and all of their neocon friends could see what the invasion of Iraq would foster.

I would say ISIS is in power as part of the blowback that resulted from the misguided decision to invade Iraq in the first place.
Before 2003, Saddam was contained. He could only sell oil that was allowed under the Oil for Food program (or what he could sneak onto the black market). The No-Fly program and sanctions pretty much had him under control. His military was in a shambles and he could not project power outside of Iraq's borders. The Prewar Iraq nuke/WMD scares were LIES.
But Cowboy Bush needed a legacy and decided to invade Iraq. He sure got his legacy. Here it is:

Exactly! Now poster Markle is trying to spin this story by saying it was the Obama team who let the ISIS leader go in 2009, so the fault lays with him. Nice try. How about we go back to the ROOT of the problem, which was the invasion of 2003, and how its aftermath played-out?
You don't get a re-try of these things; and the Bush team did everything wrong from the beginning. They couldn't even prove there were WMDs in Iraq. Instead they gave us a 5-year insurgency, 5,000 KIAs, $1.5 trillion thrown down a rat-hole, and in the long run, ISIS pops-up.

This is the stupidest thing that Mr. Markle has ever posted. Victory........Victory.......100k dead Iraqis and a nation in turmoil and somebody has the audacity to say our invasion and occupation of another nation was a victory. Now instead of watching our soldiers being blown up we see the Iraqis people suffering more at the hands of butchers. Sadly another decade of strife in Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Libya and people think the same is by accident. There never was the goal of victory in Iraq, rather the goal was the destruction of Iraq as a nation which could threaten Israel. Mission accomplished with hundreds of thousands of dead civilians and more to come. So if the victory is measured by the goals of the nation of Israel, our middle east policy has been highly successful, and could in Mr. Markle's world be declared a victory, but by any moral and legal measure our invasion and occupation was a lawless murderous mess which never was in our long term best interest.

I wonder if the Neocon idiots who thought overthrowing Saddam Hussein was a good idea ever envisioned that ISIS would come rise to try and take his place?[/color]
