Move this video to the 4:38 mark on the time counter and start watching.
Machine guns and religion make for a heinous combination.

I watched about half of it before I turned it off. Very graphic. They have those IEDs designed to perfection, don't they?

Too bad this video could not be put in a time-capsule and sent back to the Whitehouse in late 2002, so Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condoleeza Rice, and all of their neocon friends could see what the invasion of Iraq would foster.

Too bad President Barack Hussein Obama was successful in grasping defeat from the jaws of victory.

I am surprised Markle doesn't bookmark that video and watch it 6 times. He has a thing for death, bodies, and gore in general. He has posted a photo of Ambassador Steven's corpse a half dozen times in one of his cut-and-pastes trying to stir-up shit about Benghazi. Along with photos of flag-draped coffins, people falling out of the twin towers on 9/11. Anything goes in the advancement of his twisted political agenda.

That's why ISIS is in power

I would say ISIS is in power as part of the blowback that resulted from the misguided decision to invade Iraq in the first place.

Before 2003, Saddam was contained. He could only sell oil that was allowed under the Oil for Food program (or what he could sneak onto the black market). The No-Fly program and sanctions pretty much had him under control. His military was in a shambles and he could not project power outside of Iraq's borders. The Prewar Iraq nuke/WMD scares were LIES.

But Cowboy Bush needed a legacy and decided to invade Iraq. He sure got his legacy. Here it is:

Where were these men when we were building the army up?

No weirdo, we were still building up the Iraqi army and SF. Obama just had to set a deadline and let the enemy know we would be leaving. Then we bolted before the job was done building that army. That's on Obama and the blood of the innocents killed by ISIS is on his hands.

Bush's toxic legacy in Iraq
http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/13/opinion/bergen-iraq-isis-bush/

Yes, it is an opinion piece, but it cuts to the chase.

From where did ISIS spring? One of George W. Bush's most toxic legacies is the introduction of al Qaeda into Iraq, which is the ISIS mother ship.

If this wasn't so tragic it would be supremely ironic, because before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, top Bush officials were insisting that there was an al Qaeda-Iraq axis of evil. Their claims that Saddam Hussein's men were training members of al Qaeda how to make weapons of mass destruction seemed to be one of the most compelling rationales for the impending war....

After the fall of Hussein's regime, no documents were unearthed in Iraq proving the Hussein-al Qaeda axis.....  Instead of interrupting a budding relationship between Hussein and al Qaeda, the Iraq War precipitated the arrival of al Qaeda into Iraq. Although the Bush administration tended to gloss over the fact, al Qaeda only formally established itself in Iraq a year and a half after the U.S. invasion.

In other words, the Bush administration had presided over the rise of precisely what it had said was one of the key goals of the Iraq War to destroy: a safe haven for al Qaeda in the heart of the Arab world.

Sadly, we had become an army of occupation.....the war was long over, and occupation of another people's country......never turns out good. It was a failed mission from the git go, and ten more years of military occupation solves nothing.

Exactly! Now poster Markle is trying to spin this story by saying it was the Obama team who let the ISIS leader go in 2009, so the fault lays with him. Nice try. How about we go back to the ROOT of the problem, which was the invasion of 2003, and how its aftermath played-out?

You don't get a re-try of these things; and the Bush team did everything wrong from the beginning. They couldn't even prove there were WMDs in Iraq. Instead they gave us a 5-year insurgency, 5,000 KIAs, $1.5 trillion thrown down a rat-hole, and in the long run, ISIS pops-up.

Are you telling us that President Barack Hussein Obama was not in office in 2009? Who knew?

President Obama, as you have seen, has been working diligently to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory.

This is the stupidest thing that Mr. Markle has ever posted. Victory........Victory.......100k dead Iraqis and a nation in turmoil and somebody has the audacity to say our invasion and occupation of another nation was a victory. Now instead of watching our soldiers being blown up we see the Iraqis people suffering more at the hands of butchers. Sadly another decade of strife in Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Libya and people think the same is by accident. There never was the goal of victory in Iraq, rather the goal was the destruction of Iraq as a nation which could threaten Israel. Mission accomplished with hundreds of thousands of dead civilians and more to come. So if the victory is measured by the goals of the nation of Israel, our middle east policy has been highly successful, and could in Mr. Markle's world be declared a victory, but by any moral and legal measure our invasion and occupation was a lawless murderous mess which never was in our long term best interest.

Watch out, or you will be called an "anti-Semite" too.

But you are correct in you assumption that it never was in the long-term interest of the United States to be a permanent occupier of Iraq.

I wonder if the Neocon idiots who thought overthrowing Saddam Hussein was a good idea ever envisioned that ISIS would come rise to try and take his place?

On October 11, 2002, Clinton voted in favor of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq, commonly known as the Iraq War Resolution, to give President Bush authority for the Iraq War.[76]

just another neocon I guess

Any thinking person would look back on those Dem votes and ask, "what would the fallout have been if the Dems had NOT voted yes and handed the keys to the war machine to the POTUS and his Gang?"

The answer is obvious.  Had they stood up to the Neo-Cons and reminded them they were off task, they would have never won another national election.  It would have been the end of the Democratic party as we know it.
The GOP smear machine would never allow them to "get away" with reminding them that Iraq had zero to do with 9/11.

As for the absurd reason to invade; that SH was killing his own people. BS.  He was killing his enemies.  Despots have been and will continue to do the same in the ME and Africa.

We don't invade and occupy for humanitarian reasons.
