WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —

Emergency crews have been sent to Franklin Regional High School Wednesday morning after reports of multiple stabbings.

Westmoreland County emergency management spokesman Dan Stevens said one person is in custody.

Channel 11's Joe Holden reported that 20 people were hurt in the stabbings. At least four of the victims were seriously hurt.

Early reports are that a person ran through the school slashing or puncturing students with a knife or other sharp object.

The first thing I thought when I read the headline this morning was: China. Stabbing is often the way of nutcases in Asia. Japan has also had school stabbings.

What I am saying is that a determined person with a knife can (and has) killed multiple unarmed people in just one attack.
