Tomorrow marks the third anniversary of Neko's passing.

She along with Teto, Bob, Z man and others are terribly missed. The forum had so much life and activity with these individuals. They made a difference with their love of life, their laughter and even a little cynicism. Never afraid to defend their position and do so with decorum above reproach. Their intelligence and knowledge covered a wide range of topics and ideas...not all conventional... but always expressed with tact, honesty, humor, and civility. Never needing to resorted to nasty, condescending, vulgar or irrational discourse we now endure from posters and their socks.

Rest in peace my friends and know you are all missed so very very much. If we could only go back in time to enjoy your company once again.

I miss you all, especially my friend.

Thank you. She was a great person. I miss her comments and observations on Japan and the small things you learn from being in country. She left us too soon. Thank you for your kind post.

I loved their convo about Japan in particular. I didn't have the in depth conversations as others because we usually agreed... lol. But she had the most wonderful way of expressing herself... which I greatly admired. I had a very even tone at the pnj most of the time... but I don't think I ever saw her lose her cool. I'm sure that was her way with family and close friends too... it's really impossible to fake. I hope her family is ok... and you joani. We were all very fortunate to have had her time/presence.

Her family, though missing her terribly, are doing fine.

Oh she would get angry with me, but she knew the game and never once called me a name. She would just do her research and try to go tit for tat, and would try to corner me in an argument. We used to have so much fun at times laughing about things, even when she was clearly angry at me. I am piszed that this happened to her. She was healthy until those damn home repairs. People need to wear respirators when doing remodeling. I was not happy to see her struggle at the end. It seems some of our best people just got snatched up for no good reason, and now going on nine years filled with cancer, I am still here......none of this makes any sense at times, but we did giggle about getting a bus and bringing all the homeless to Navarre for the day.......laughter is often the best cure, and I shared many fond memories with a very good woman. I loved it when Hallmark and Neko would talk about Korea and Japan. We all learned so much.

Neko (猫) is the Japanese word for cat.  It was one first words I learned....It is one of those words that seem to work better for me than the english word..Been a long time since I was in Japan but some words stay with me.  It is good to see that she still lives in the memory of many of us.  A mark of a great person..
