I love Florida State Parks.  Silver Springs is now a state park.  I've heard it's gone downhill in recent years and I hope that the state turns it around.

Beautiful... I bet there are trout and redfish if you waded out a bit and threw a line. Blue crab too.

Redfish and blue crab for sure.

I saw them.

I had no idea what to expect before we got there.

As soon as I got out of the car, I told my wife that I shoulda brought my rod and reel.

Next time.

Don't forget your government permits to fish and be careful not to keep a fish over or under the government mandated limits.

Some ospreys out there were definitely taking more than their limit.

They make some very good top water lures these days... but the sure thing is shrimp or pin fish under a bobber.

No wading right now. That bacteria is the real deal. A friend of mine in TX used to run a little toy sailboat out with a net attached to it in the estuaries.
