If Iran is meant to get a message over "obama's red lines"....why waste the ammo on Syria?

According to the administration, the COWH states that we must hit Syria to send a message to Iran. WTH? Let's just get this over with and bomb Iran now. Why wait? Hitting Syria does nothing to Iran in the long run and why not deal directly with the DEVIL we obviously don't like in Iran? They are strategically surrounded by our forces as we speak with all the bases we have in the Mideast.
