Bense: UWF To Field a Football Team During the 2016 Season

Division II, Gulf South Conference.

Meh...as an alum I could care less.

I  also am an alum (got my MS at UWF), and am pretty excited about it.

They will probably start by being a cupcake team for well-known Division 1 teams. They will play for million $$ payoffs. After they build up some $$, the big stadium will come. Then eventually (though Bense denies it now) the jump to Division 1.

20 years from now they will be playing in the SEC....

There's no way we ever have enough season ticket holders, think the reg is like 40K, to ever be DIV I and there are too many profs who aren't going to lower their standards for the "Dumb Jock Football Players". If the local area had the jobs to support the UWF alums staying in area to work, you might be right, but most everyone departs for greener pastures once they cross the stage at graduation.
