A 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in front of a house in the 1600 block of Lepley Road just north of Interstate 10 this evening, authorities said, and two people are being sought as suspects.
The shooting happened shortly before 5:45 p.m. The victim was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital with serious injuries, authorities said, and his prognosis is unknown.
Escambia County sheriff’s Sgt. Cory Cephas said detectives are looking for two men in a light-colored two-door car.
About 50 people gathered outside the crime-scene tape this evening to watch investigators collect evidence. Neighbors said they heard about seven gunshots go off.
“Everyone heard it, but no one saw anything,” said Ernest Williams, a neighbor.
Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Office at 436-9620 or Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
