“[W]e do know that Islamic extremists with ties to al-Qa’ida participated in the attack.” That was replaced by the more tepid “There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.”

A distinction without a difference......any thinking person who heard the president knew we were attacked by terrorists......absent any politician opening their mouth, a high school graduate would realize we were attacked by terrorists, the question of whether they manipulated demonstrations or did not is entirely not relevant......the real question is how f'---ing stupid would somebody have to be to think this was not terrorist? It is entirely an illogical argument......Americans are stupid, therefore the president mislead Americans......granted some Americans are stupid, but I would guess that 90% of Americans without explanation from anybody understood that this was a terrorist attack and would agree with what the President said in the Rose Garden.........

So what is this argument about? It is about the idiotic thesis that Americans are stupid, and that because of the above change in language, the election results were changed. The rest of this discussion is superfluous because what I have just stated is the core premise, and it is on the face absurd.

What is so amusing is the word "Benghazi" to wingnuts like Pace Dog is almost like saying the word "Boo!" to someone who is afraid of ghosts. Just say the word and their hair goes on fire in an unquenchable inferno.

This administration will be in office until January 20, 2017, and the sooner you understand it, the better you will be able to cope with it (if you can last that long without burning yourself up).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/10/benghazi-emails-state-department_n_3256859.html

WASHINGTON -- Political considerations influenced the talking points that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice used five days after the deadly Sept. 11 assault in Benghazi, Libya, with State Department and other senior administration officials asking that references to terror groups and prior warnings be deleted, according to department emails.

The latest disclosures Friday raised new questions about whether the Obama administration tried to play down any terrorist factor in the attack on a diplomatic compound just weeks before the November presidential election. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed when insurgents struck the U.S. mission in two nighttime attacks.

The White House has insisted that it made only a "stylistic" change to the intelligence agency talking points from which Rice suggested on five Sunday talk shows that demonstrations over an anti-Islamic video devolved into the Benghazi attack.

Numerous agencies had engaged in an email discussion about the talking points that would be provided to members of Congress and to Rice for their public comments. In one email, then-State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland worried about the effect of openly discussing earlier warnings about the dangers of Islamic extremists in Benghazi.

Nuland's email said such revelations "could be abused by members of Congress to beat the State Department for not paying attention to (central intelligence) agency warnings," according to a congressional official who reviewed the 100 pages of emails.

Do you get paid extra to repeat the same lie time after time? Not even the administration, or poor Jay Carney has tried to push that phony position.

As we know now there were TWELVE CHANGES to the original talking points with the SPECIFIC INTENT to remove all references to terrorist, al Qaeda or any other Radical Islamic Terrorist Group.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton actually had the gal to meet with the families of those killed when the coffins were returned and told them the attack was because of the stupid film strip story.

Immoral and unforgivable.

I watched all of the Sunday TV shows live. I listened to the President. Never once did I think we were attacked by anyone but terrorist. What phony position are you talking about? That I have a brain between my ears and at the end of that Sunday I believed we had been attacked by terrorists.....just like all the other embassy attacks. Now tell me.......were you confused after that Sunday? Did you change your vote for president?

The central thesis of this controversy is Americans are stupid.........it fails at every level.

Don't see it as turning on the cowh but rather the press FINALLY has seen enough of the arrogance and cover up to join in on attempting to get to the truth...between Benghazi and the IRS....this administration is actually being criticized and challanged not only by the media but by some democrats too....

pffft ...

... what the wingnuts fail to realize at their own peril, is that this little drama is playing out within the confines of their echo chamber bubble.

The American electorate has largely tuned out the somnolent drone of the 24/7 cable news static regarding scandalous talking points and malevolent IRS mid-level staff.

However, impeachment proceedings against a President they overwhelmingly re-elected will bring that sleeping giant to its senses real quick, and there will be a hefty price to pay.

Repukes are incapable of learning from experience.

Please proceed, governor.

No.

For the most part, the guns are being bought by the oxygen deprived brains who inhabit the echo chamber.

Silliness is the trademark of those who think 'Benghazi' is equal to Watergate as a scandal.

George W. Bush must have been wearing a teflon-suit for his entire 8-years, as nothing could be made to stick to his butt. There was plenty that could have, however. Benghazi is not going to 'stick' to Obama, either.

The wingnuts in Congress had better watch themselves, and get back to trying to govern the country. 2014 is not that far away, and the voters will likely put governance before 'Benghazi' when they go to the polls.
