Last night, I watched All Quiet on the Western Front.
It blew me away, and the message still rings true. For an art film w/ a definite gestalt, it came across as a powerful statement about man's inhumanity to man. Excellent cinematography, special effects, and for the most part, a well written script, albeit somewhat hampered by lackluster acting which was often the case in the early days of film making.
